I'm hoping someone can help me solve a mystery.

My grandfather is Manuel Rodrigues Cardoso, born on May 28 1894 in Urzelina Sao Jorges, Portugal. My father and his siblings do not know their grandfather's given name.

Unfortunately he was listed as unknown on my grandfather's birth certificate. What we do know is that Joao de Sousa Cardoso was my grandfather’s uncle and his father's brother also from Sao Jorge.

From what I was able to gather so far, is that great-grandpa Cardoso left the Azores and must have past away during a trip. I hope someone can help figure out my great-grandfather’s name.

My father’s name is Antero Manuel (living in Canada). His sisters are Maria Ester (living in Sao Jorge, Portugal), Odete (living in California), Maria Seleste (deceased in Napa, California), Maria Dagmar (living in California), Maria Edwarda (living in California) and his brother’s are Ricardo Jorge (deceased in Ottawa, Canada), Ferminio -Avelino (deceased, Urzelina, Sao Jorge Portugal).
