Hi,
Trying to find ANY information on my great-grandmother and her two oldest children, my uncles. She immigrated to the US prior to 1910, as the younger of the two boys was born in NY March 5, 1910 and was named Almando D'Alessandro. I have found a ships manifest which has her passage (one of many trips she made back and forth from Italy) in 1907 as Philomena Carducci with her son Luigi... this is where the family is thrown off... It states that Luigi was approx. 6 years old or so. However, later in life somehow, Luigi went by the name Lewis Carducci Desander (Americanization of D'Alessandro?), and his birthdate was always listed as Sept. 7, 1909, which would make him only six months older than his brother born in NY.We have a US birth certificate for his brother Almando, however, Luigi was born in Italy, possibly in 1901 and not in 1909. We also do not know if Carducci was her maiden name or if this was obtained through a marriage. She was also married in the US to an D'Alessandro, and later to an Olivo. She passed away in 1923 or 1924. Her youngest child, a girl was born Sept. 16, 1914 in Clearfield Co. PA to her last husband and had the surname Olivo. This is my grandmother. ANY information would be greatly appreciated!
