Anyone out there who knew of a Tom Carew who left Co. Meath or Co. Offaly in the early 1900's for ( maybe ) Washington ? He had a brother Joe who married Kate Bracken, a brother Mick, unmarried and two sisters. It's sad but true , but my aunts cannot supply dates of birth etc but going on instict I would say Tom & siblings were born in the late 1800's / early 1900's. My grandmother, Joe's wife used to joke her brother-in-law went to paint the White House, so therefore I assume he was in the building trade in some form or other
