I am interested in genealogical info on the family of George Washington Carey, b. ca 1852 of Dow City, married to Anna Munson Carey, b. ca 1865, d. 1910-20. His parents were Ambrose D. Carey, b ca 1823, d. 1880-85 , and Hannah (Fannie) Hayes Carey of Paradise Township.
George and Anna Carey had five children, the oldest Charles, b. 1883, was my grandfather; George Jr. settled in Nebraska; while the two twins, John and Mary remainded in Crawford County as did the youngest, Emma, born after my grandfathers departure.
John, who I believe remainded about Dow City had one son named William, while Mary married a Claude Blackman, had a large family and lived in both Dow City and Dennison. Mary I can remember visiting our home in Niles,Michigan (just north of South Bend,IN) in the late '50s but there was no visitation with other family members from Iowa except one of Mary's daughters Margeret Blackman Beck, who carried on a correspondence with my father until his death in 1963. On a family vacation in 1964, we did visit Margaret who had remarried (a man with a Ukrainian name) and was living in Earling.
