I am pulling my hair out over this woman. She is my 5g-grandmother and this line stops with her and her husband.
Census records say she was born about 1805 give or take a year. For a long time, they said she was born in NJ, then, at the end, born in PA (the same pattern followed with her children).
She married William Huffman, again saying he was born in NJ. They had four children: Jane, Louisa, Oliver and Roxanna. They moved to Wayne County, OH about 1840. William died in 1842. The family later moved to Porter County, IN.
Oliver's death index card had his parents listed as William Huffman and Mary Carcuf. That's it. That's all I know. Based on the spelling, pretty sure it's some form of Carkhuff/Kirkhoff etc.
