I am Looking for the Carlisle/Carlile/Carlyle family with Scotttish origin. Does anyone know of the town where the Carlile family came from? I have heard of Annadale as a place to start. I will be visiting Scotland in August and would like some tips on places to visit so that I may do some research. Has anyone heard of
Carlyle - Thomas (1795-1881) - An influential philosopher and historian of the Victorian age. Also I have been trying to find out about the Earl of Carlyle.
