Yes the King RObert the Bruce ties are with Sir WIlliam Carlisle who married the 6th (i beleive) sister of Robert the Bruce. We are 1 of 6 Families in the world allowed to rightfully wear the Bruce Tartan. The Carlisles began around Carlisle Scotland now present day England. I have traced back to 1186 A.D. We are also of Strathclyde Britons decent. =
