MUSCATINE, Iowa - Phyllis Jane Carlisle, 85, of Muscatine, died Monday, April 6, 2009, at Unity Hospital.
Service will be at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Bruce Martin of Calvary Church will officiate the service. An honorary bearer will be Paul Stoube. Casket bearers will be Jason Stoube, Bradley Stoube, Tony DeVore, Tim DeVore, and Brett Jennings. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Muscatine Humane Society.
She was born on May 8, 1923, in Lake City, Minnesota, the daughter of Robert L. and Margaret C. Frost Warren. Her first marriage was to Florian Keen on November 29, 1941. Her second marriage was to Charles Edward Carlisle on April 15, 1965, in Rock Island, Illinois.
She was of the Episcopal faith.
She enjoyed oil painting, seashell hunting, and especially loved her grandchildren. She also did house sitting for people.
Survivors include one son, Michael Florean Keen and wife, Jan, of Colorado; two daughters, Sharon DeVore and husband, Gerald, of Muscatine, and Tannis Jennings; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and her ex-husband, Charles Edward Carlisle of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, Christina Reeves, and one sister, Darlene Capshaw
