I am having trouble researching my CARLSON line from Norway. I have tried the digital Archives from Norway, ships passenger lists, etc., but have hit a "brick wall".

Marie CARLSON b. about 1856 (Maiden name OLSEN)emigrated from Norway to Tacoma, Pierce County, WA about 1900. Husband possibly Carl CARLSON. Marie died in Pierce County WA August 30 1948 as a result of hit and run driver. Death certificate states father as "August CLOW" and mother as "Olerica" ?

Daughter: Anna Marie CARLSON b. 1884 Norway, emigrated to WA 1903, died Feb 6 1931 in Tacoma. (Death info states father as Carl CARLSON and Mother as Marie OLSEN) Married Iver FURSETH 1905 in Tacoma, Pierce, WA. Family records state: "Anna Marie (Orvik) CARLSON of Walderhaug, Alesland, Norway". I have figured that "Alesland" is probably "Alesund", but can not find "Walderhaug" or "Orvik".

Son: Carl M. Carlson b. about 1878 in Norway, Died 1918 in France (WWI) buried at Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery. Marie CARLSON was oldest "Gold Star" recipient to be sent to France for her son.

Daughter: Lena CARLSON, born Aug 14 1884 Norway emigrated to WA 1909. Died April 1971 in Pierce County,WA.
