New Steel Concern In Field
Company Has Been Chartered And Has Millions Of Dollars Backing It
Pittsburg, Jan 19 - The Post tomorrow will say that the Pressed Steel Car Company is soon to have direct competition by the National Rolled Steel Car Company. This company has been incorporated under the laws of West Virginia, with a paid up capital of $60,000, which will be increased to several millions. Plans have been completed for a sit, to cost between $1,500,000 and $2,000,000, to be located in the immediate neighborhood of Pittsburg.
The company will manufacture rolled steel rails. Box cars, goldolas, and car trucks, under patents owned by C. M. Carnahan will also be manufactured. It will own and operate its own coal mines, ore mines, and limestone properties, and when completed will employ 2,500 men. Temporary shops have been located at Hazelwood. The company is being financed largely by Pittsburgh capital and general offices will be opened here April 1. Work on the new plant will begin at once.
