Thank you Shane for responding, but I do not believe that my grandpa had a sister named Ali. He had a twin sister named Doy, and I do know that his father's name was Patrick Carnal. Is Ali's father also named Patrick? Again, thanks for responding to me. It is greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure if it is the same Carnal family line, bit I am searching for information from a line from Oklahoma. My great grandmother was a Wilson who married a Carnal in McCloud and then moved to New Mexico in the earlier part of the 1900s.

I am not sure if I have any relatives on my Dad's side of the family from Humboldt, TN. I know I have some on my Mother's side, so I can't say we are not related, there might be a possibility. I don't know of any jessie m. carnal and his wife was elsie h. carnal. I will have to ask my Dad if he has any relatives with those names. Not sure if he will know though. If I find out anything I will post. Thanks for your inquiry.

We may be on the same line, as a few years ago I made contact with relations from MS & PA. I may have met your Mom n Ripley, MS, while doing research in MS in the late 90's. Are there any relations to a Willard Roy Carnal and Dora Elzen Bagwell Carnal? I am their granddaughter Rebecca Ann Carnal Kuersten and looking for relatives to help me find out about our family heritage. I am interested in Jesse Watson who married Catharen Carnal in Granville Co., NC on 31 Oct 1812. Elijah Carnal was the bondsman & ? Hicks the witness.

Also, I would be interested in any information that might link Jesse Watson, Jr., (b. 1771-1780 in Orange Co., NC; d. ca. 1830 in Spartanburg Co., SC) to the Carnal/Carnel/Carney family in NC. His parents were Jesse Watson, Sr. & Mary Howerton/Howertain of Orange/Person Co., NC.

The middle name of Jesse Watson, Jr.'s son, Moses Cerney Watson, is the basis for my theory that Jesse Watson, Jr. married a Carney/Carnal/Carnel. I also have a DNA link to the Cearnal family. Any help would be appreciated.

Elizabeth P. Stewart Carnal

Looking for husband of Elizabeth Purvis Stewart who married a Carnal. Her parents were Joseph and Ann Stewart. Elizabeth was born in Louisa county, Va., 1788. In her fathers will in 1841 in Lincoln County, Ky., he names his daughter Elizabeth Carnal, with his other children. The reason I believe she may have married a Carnal in Caroline County, Va., is because he bought land from a Daniel Coleman in 1815 in Caroline Co. There are several Carnal's in Carolina County Va., in 1810 and 1820, I just don't know which one she may have married, if it was one of them. Any help on this would be appreicated.

Hello, Just dropping a quick post here. I am also a descendant of John Carnal and Mrs. Tigrett of Tippah Co. MS. I have just recently started looking into my family line and would love to correspond with anyone who has information. My email address is musikal1@gotrain.org.

For an idea of my line, I live in Missouri and I'm the daughter of Charles Carnal, who is the son of William Paschal Carnal of MS, who is the son of William Jeff Carnal, who is the son of John W. Carnal, who is the son of Samuel William Carnal, who is the son of William Samuel Carnal b. May, 1801 and was married to Jane ? of Ireland....that is as far as I have been able to get.

I think the Benjamin Walker Carnal you are discussing is my great-grandfather. Marvin Gale Carnal was my grandfather. He, I believe, was the youngest son of Benjamin Carnal and Mable Good.
My grandfather was living in Alabama at the time of his death. I believe his parents were married in Iowa.

Info only: Florian Carnal was born at Waddinton, NY, 29 Apr 1879. Attended Univ of Michigan then taught at Arvilla High School in Grand Forks County, ND. 1901, moved to Havre, Montana and opened a law office and served as city clerk and city attorney from 1903-1905. Was a member of the state legislature ca 1913. Florian died June 1934 & is buried in Highland Cemetery in Havre, Montana.

A short biography of Florian Carnal is included in "Grit, Guts, and Gusto, a History of Hill County" (page 188) which can be obtained at the Havre Library http://www.mtha.mt.lib.org

Hi Mike, My great-grandfather, James Edward Carnal, had a brother named Jesse (b. 09/1885 in Tippah County, MS), the other siblings were: Lonnie W. Carnal, Sallie Lula, William Jeff, & Bertie. According to the family records I have they were all born in Tippah County, MS. Their parents were John W. Carnal and M. Annie F. Tigrett. (John W. was also married to Susie Godwin Sanders and Mamie Little.)
Tippah County, MS is located in the upper eastern part of the state very near the Tennessee border.
Do you by chance know your grandfather's birthdate/birthplace?
We have always pronounced our name as "Carnell".
I look forward to corresponding with you again and hopefully sharing family history.

My grandfather was named Jesse Carnell (Carnal). The name had been Carnal, but it was mispelled on some documents as Carnell. In fact some of his children spell their names Carnal and some Carnell depending on how it was spelled on their birth certificates. They lived in Carroll County Tennessee and finally in the Gibson County and madison County Tennessee area. My grandfather had a sister named Lila (sp?) and I know that my dad had an aunt Ruthie. I can barely remember her. My grandmother's name was Elsie Burton Hedge. Could these be relatives? Let me know. I'd like to get some family info.

Wondering if this line could be connected to Andrew B. Carnell of SW Tennessee. He married Mary E. Richardson. Their children were apparently Ruthie, Asie, Louis, Louise, and James as nearly as I can make out from the 1920 Census in Madison Co. Tennessee. I found Louis H. Carnell, their son, posted under Birth Records here so someone is working on this line. Thanks.

I know that he married Alice Ruthie Jane Craig in Arkansas between 1905-1910. They had 1 child Janie born 08/06/1911, in Big Bay, Arkansas. Also, know that he died when Janie was a baby so we are guessing sometime between 1912-1915. Any guidance or information would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry it has taken me so long to answer your reply. I actually forgot about butting a notice on the board. Right after I listed the notice I had disk surgery in my neck and sort of go side tracked and then my computer went down. I am also do work on the Graves Family soI am probably spreading myself thin.

I live in Shreveport, LA ( born in Memphis and raised in San Antonio, TX) My Dad's mother was Lula Cindy Roach (Powell Graves) her parent's were Thomas Jefferson Roach and Frances Elizabeth Deen (Dean). The parent's of Frances Elizabeth Deen (Dean) wwere Gilford Jackson Deen and Catherine Carnal. From what I understand Catherine's parents were Samuel Carnal and Jane (?) Watson. That is as far as I go with information. Carnals apparently were from Abbeville, SC. Do you have anything else?

My mom probably has a lot of information. We are in Pennsylvania. My father and I were born in Mississppi. Known family also in Missouri, Texas, Alabama and others. We used to visit family in Mississippi every other year when I was a kid. One year my mom did a lot of research down there and had a pretty good history gathered. I know she still works on it from time to time. She is now trying to track down a couple Carnals in Germany (my mother is German). Supposedly my uncle fathered a son over their when he was stationed in Germany in the mid 60s.

I even had the opportunity to visit Ripley, last Sept.,unfortunately, I didn't get to meet her. Do you know of Tommy Covington? He is the Tippah Co., MS historian. Another person who has been very helpful to me is Nancy Welch & her husband Milton(also a Carnal descendent)Let me know if you'd like their email address.
