I am not sure if Basil is still alive. He was in 2006. Murray and Bill are still in the Saskatoon area I believe.

Cathi

Hi there I am a carnegie living in London and come from an extremely large diverse family. My fathers name is Noel Alexander and he is on of about 13 brothers and sisters. He was born in Sanguinetti in Clarendon in 1926 but is still alive just like many of his siblings who seem to live forever, good genes. His father was a Thomas Carnegie and his mother named Estella. Alot of the family are still based in Sanguinetti. Reply if we can make the links.

I am seeking information on the Carnegie family of Ballarat too. Specifically George Carnegie b. 1827 in Montrose Scotland. He married Jean Jane Alexander before leaving Scotland. They arrived here on the Walcousta from Glasgow in 1853 and settled in Ballarat, where with Jane's father John Alexander, they built their home Montrose Cottage.
I only have one David Carnegie in my tree. He was born in Ballarat in 1863, to George and Jane (above).
Is this the family you are seeking?
Catherine

I know that there are a few living direct descendants left, and I know this because I went to school with one of them. Her name is Courtney Adele Evans and she is the daughter of Pamela Finlay Morrison Mitchell. Great girl. She also has a brother, Dylan Evans. Those are the few true and direct descendants there are left. She always wore her Grandmother Margaret Miller Carnegie's bracelet.

Mary Jane Carnegie (1845-1872) - Who is she?

She married Henry Ellinger on 12/24/1863 and started a family in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. She and Henry had four daughters before she died at the young age of 28.

I do not know when Mary Jane arrived in Cumberland County or from whence she came. I do not know with any certainty the names of her parents, though the name William Carnegie was penciled in on a family tree drawn by my aunt many years ago.

Any tips, hint, or suggestions would be appreciated.
-Chris Irvin

Aunt Vida is actually my second cousin, as is your father, Joe and Rachel. Amos, sr was my great uncle, brother of my grand mother Rachel Elizabeth Carnegie. Rachel E. and Charles Benjamin had two daughters: Teola (d.2000) and Elfreida (d.2006). I am the third of five children of Teola. I lived ten years at 135-09 37th Ave/Prince Street in Flushing and briefly in the Corona house with my Aunt Freida, where Uncle Amos and Aunt Susie once lived. I knew both of them from my youth.
Your father would know of my mother and her sister. They all grew up together, and I believe they once lived together in the 37th Ave (at Prince Street).
I know Vida best, and last saw her in DC at Dennis's memorial (2003). I now live in the Sierra mountains of California. I have two sons: Hakim (41) and Taufiq (38) and one grandchild(17).

peace and blessings
Yasmin
yazsay@yahoo.com
On 14 June 1725 Alexander Carnegie of Balnamoon executed a deed in favour of George Wyllie, James Wyllie, Andrew Wyllie and David Wyllie. The last of these, David, died in 1757. I believe that they were all brothers, the sons of David Wyllie, tenant in Tillyarblet, parish of Lethnot and Navar, Angus, Scotland.

I believe this is the Alexander Carnegie who married Margaret Graham in 1711.

Does anyone have any idea why Alexander Carnegie would have given money to these Wyllies?
