Annie Carpenter born 1798, married 1. Wm. Hogue 2. Truman Walker (my second great Grandfather)1824 Portage County Ohio. Annie and truman later moved to Calhoun County Michigan, which is where I live now. The Calhoun County Portrait and Biographical Album says Annie's Grandfather was Caleb Carpenter. I have a copy of "Aaron Carpenter of Westchester County NY" by Frances M. Metzer that I got at the Michigan State Librry in Lansing MI that says that Aaron born born 1770 is the father of a daughter Anna born 1798. (Anna and Truman named their first son Aaron). Ms. Metzer says she does not know who the father of Aaron is but she thinks they are from the Westchester line. I have a Boston Transcript (22 July 1928 #8806) that says Caleb Carpenter (son of Edward and Louise Wilson) married to Hannah Carpenter had among other children, a son, Aaron born 1770, so he could be the father of Anna. you can see this is pure speculation, can anyone help me straighten this out? I sure would appreciate any help you could give.
