Ok. I may be related to you. My maiden name was Miguela Irma Carrasquillo. I know my fathers name was Joseph (Jose). His nick name was Peppe. I am 66 years old and I was born in 1945 in NYC. My mother's name was Maria Aracelis Valenzuela. She died in 1973 at age 60. I know Jose and Maria met in New York. I know that my mother separated from my father when I was just a few years old. Don't know if they really were ever legally married? I know they lived in NY and Jose moved to Conn. after they separated. I need to know about my father, and his history. I know nothing about him except that I was told that he was married before and had at least one child.
My grandfather lived with his uncle Isidoro Carrasquillo. Isidoro's wife was Angela Cruz. I think it was about 1910. They were from Farjado, P.R. I have been told these Carrasquillos (or their fathers) came from Spain. I am looking for information on my grandfather's parents. His name was Victor Carrasquillo. I think his mother's name was Carlota Rios.

Hello David
I would I start my searches with LDS. I am also in search for family with the last name Carrasquillo and for last name Laboy. My paternal grandmother is Arsenia Laboy, uncle William Laboy. It is my understanding they lived in Luquillo PR or Maunabo PR. If you happen to have any information to share it would be greatly appreciated. The story I have been told is that my grandmother Arsenia Laboy married Arturo Carrasquillo moved to NY and left to return to PR leaving her husband and son behind, contact between mother and son was never kept. My father died in 1983 and I have very little details but I am interested in knowing about my ancestors. My father Justo Carrasquillo was the only son from that marriage.
Kind regards,
Wanda Ebrahim
Apparently your birth name is Guzman. Did you mean that they gave you your stepfathers name which was Carrasquillo. What was your stepfather first and last name. You certainly have a lot of work ahead of you. Look in the census. So it seems that your brother's are Guzman and not Carrasquillo. maby that is why you can't find them. Ask your mother.
Rose

the first thing you have to do is try to find your grandfather's and your grandmother's name.In spanish Joseph is Jose. My uncle was named Jose Carrasquillo and I know he married a couple of times. He died about 20 years ago. He lived in Conn. and New york. He was born in Puerto Rico. I have been doing the genealogy of my Carrasquillo family and I will say it is very difficult and takes a long time to do research. Try to go back a little. Go back in the census and talk to older family members. you can contact me if you think I could be of help.

Only Carrasquillo in the world....

My name is Kenneth Carrasquillo I'm 33 years old. My biological father was named Joseph Carrasquillo. He died about 20 years ago. I have two brothers from his side that are older than me I believe that their names are Carlos and Joseph Carrasquillo. I was always against trying to find them because they should have looked for me since they are older but nevertheless I begin my search not for them but for any children that they may have had. Again I do this only because I have two daughters now and I would like to have answers for them when they start asking questions. I live in Brooklyn, NY and have been there my whole life. I don't know if this will help but here goes nothing. If you know of any of the people I have mentioned let me know. Thanks again.

Hello
My am also in search for the Carrasquillo/Laboy ancestors who lived in Luquillo and Manuabo.
I think you and I wrote about the name Rochill. My grandfather had a brother named Rochill Carrasquillo vergara. (they all lived in Aguas Buenas) His sister was catalina carrasquillo Vergara and my grandfather was Salvador Carrasquillo vergara. Their Parents were Andres Carrasquillo godon and mother was Juana Vergara. We never could find out her other name. These parents were born on or abt 1825 and all I know my grandfather was born on 1881. So his brother and sister were proberly older. they were blond with blue eyes. I know she had a brother in aguas buenas that would visit her. But we dont have a name. According to an uncle that has passed away --the parents Andres and Juana Vergara came from the Canary Islands. I know the name rochell is very unsual. write me at grandmarose1@hotmail.com
Rose

Looking for siblings or anyone that would know my deceased mom.

For anyone willing to read this: My name is Lizabeth Torres I was born in Rio Pierdras, Puerto Rico to a woman who I think was named Aida Carrasquillo. Aida I was told gave all her children up for adoption. My adoptive family is very secretive about my biological family. I strongly feel they know something but are afraid to tell me. I was born in February 17, 1967, my birth certificate states my adoptive parents name. In other words my real mother faked her name and claimed that she was "Gladys" my adoptive mom. To be quite honest it seems as if my searching for my mom or siblings has no significance or importance to my parents. They live in Puerto Rico, yet whenever I ask for help in finding my real family they promise me and never do anything about anything. This doesn't help my self esteem either makes me feel as if my feelings do not matter. Please if anyone knows of someone with the name Aida Carrasquillo please email. I also know that she had a cousinGilberto Carrasquillo who still is alive but again my parents do nothing to help me. I was told she died in a car accident around the 1980's.. Thank you and God Bless! Liz Torres
