Peg,
Do you have any information on Sterling's siblings. I have been trying to trace my gggrandfather, Benjamin Hawkins Carroll's roots. He died in Rankin County MS in 1859 and was born in NC Jun 19, 1809. There is unproven information that his father was John Carroll of Moore County, NC. John's father, John,Sr, also of Moore County, listed a son, Sterling in his will in 1822. John,Sr.,also had a brother, Sterling, who lived in Moore County.

John,Jr, had died prior to 1822(listed as deceased in John,Sr's will) when my gggrandfather, Benjamin, would have been just a small boy. Somebody in the family probably took him and his siblings in and maybe moved to the Mississippi area. Trying to confirm Benjamin's roots by getting more information on the Moore County Carrolls. All the Moore County Carrolls had moved out or died by the 1830s. Any help would be appreciated.
