Benjamin F. Carroll dies Blooming Grove, TX 1912

Carroll - Blooming Grove, Tex., May 9 - Benjamin F. Carroll, an ex-Confederate veteran, died at his place and was buried at Dresden with Masonic honors. Deceased enlisted in war service with Company B, Fourth Texas Cavalry, under Col. Parsons, and after four months at State service enlisted in the Second Texas regulars under Parsons; was captured at Lake Providence by a portion of Steele's company; escaped from guard house and made his way to his company, which afterward disbanded in Falls County. He was a pioneer settler in Navarro County and lived at his present home since 1869.
