I have been researching Pindell family for my brother in law,Roy Keith Pindell, who is the son of Virgie Lou. Keith just passed away Oct 28th. There were still Carrolls in Franklin, NH at least through the 1960's. There was a David Carroll, known as Chick, who had two sons. The sons were born around the late 1940's.

Seeking any information on the family of John and Mary A. Carroll of Clarke Co., VA. In the 1900 census they were listed with five children, Lewis, Edwin, Claude, Arthur and Grover. Lewis, Edwin, Claude and Arthur were in Teton Co., Montana in 1917 and 1918 where they registered for the draft. Edwin was in Pondera Co., Montana in 1920 with three children and his mother Amelia, age 58, widow.

Arthur F. Carroll, died in San Antonio, TX in 1943

Searching for any information on Arthur F. Carroll. He is buried in San Antonio with out a birth date. He died on 22 Jan 1943. One reference indicates he was a veteran of WW1.
His death certificate lists his parents as unknown and place of birth unknown.
This man appears to have starved to death after being run over by a hit and run driver.
I would like to identify his family to add to his memorial record.

Do you know anything about William's sister, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Carroll?

I am looking for an Elizabeth "Lizzie" Carroll, born about 1849, who married John David Hadwin in SC about 1874. She is listed in the 1880 Census in Barnwell County as Elizabeth Hadwin. She is also listed in the 1900 Census in Bamberg County as Elizabeth Hadwin. In the 1910 Census, her husband, John D. Hadwin is listed as widowed. On the death certificate of her daughter Fannie Hadwin Mitchum, she is listed as Lizzie Carroll. Family folklore says her name was Mary Elizabeth, but I've never seen that on any document.

Any info you have would be greatly appreciated.

My ggrandmother (Lizzie) came from Ireland in 1870. According to family stories, she arrived with her mother and siblings. She met and married my ggrandfather John Monahan in Mass. Her family moved to Iowa where they had a dairy farm. If this sounds familiar at all, please let me know.

My grandmother was Nellie Alice McCarroll Coley told me in several occasions that some of her McCarroll's dropped the "N" an d went by Carroll.

Also there is a Rinegar Family connection one of my ancestors was Christ/Kris Rinegar of German Descent.

I have a ggUncle (I believe) Martin Carroll, born in Ireland his sister? my ggGrandmother Maria and her brother Nicholas also born in Ireland. In the 1920 NJ census, there is a Philip Quirk and Martin Quirk listed as his nephews living with him. I know his daughter Margaret Carroll Arlington was my gGrandmother's cousin. Maria's parents were listed on her marriage certificate from New York as Nicholas Carroll and Mary Rer???, but on the death certificate it's listed as Connely. I haven't been able to verify last name yet but this may help somewhat.

I don't know much about this side of the family, but in the 1920 New Jersey Census, there are 2 nephews Martin and Philip Quirk living with my great Uncle Martin Carroll. I am trying to find more information and will let you know if anything else comes of it.

My Elizabeth Lizzie Carroll was shown in the 1860 (age 1) census with her mother Margaret "Peggy" Carroll. In my database, I have that she married someone with the last name of Green, but I have a question mark beside this info..(meaning I'm probably wrong. Hello, good to see something new on our family of Carroll's my grandfather and grandmother were Zachary and Mina Carroll. Her name actually was Minnie Pearl Negus do not know how it got shortened to Mina, never heard her called that.

I'm searching for info on my family. My grandparents were William Carroll and Emma Pferdehirt Carroll. I have no idea what thier parents names were, and have not been able to find out. Grandpap Carroll (William) died in or around 1926, and Grandma (Emma)in or around 1945 or 1946. I never had a chance to know them. So, I'd really like to know something about their families. I would appreciate any help.

1904 Biography of James A. Carroll, son of Patrick & Frances (Tucker) Vinson Carroll and brother of Father Patrick J. Carroll. - Carroll, James Andrew, (b. Feb., 1852,) who has been identified with the mercantile interests of Fonda and Rolfe, since 1884, is a native of Macon, Georgia, the son of Patrick H. and Frances K. (Tucker) Carroll. In 1867 he moved with his parents to Jackson county, Iowa, where in 1870, he married Anna Mary Daly, a native of that place, and located on a farm. He remained there until 1880, when he moved to Clinton county, and found employment in a general store, in 1884 he moved to Fonda, two years later to a farm in Dover township, then successively to Rolfe, Fonda and Incline where, for two years, he had charge of a general store. In 1900 he returned to Rolfe, where he and his son James are employed in the department store of M. Crahan. His brother, P.J. Carroll, was the first resident priest of the Dover and Fonda Catholic churches in 1882-87.
His family has consisted of nine children of whom Anna died at the age of sixteen and Francis at four.
1-Zachary Taylor (b. Dec. 4, 1871) in 1899 married Mina Negus, of Des Moines, and lives at Rolfe.
2-Patrick Henry (b. Feb. 22, 1874) in May, 1898, enlisted in Co. K, 1st Reg. S.D. infantry at Madison and rendered military service in the Philippines until October, 1899, when he was honorably discharged as a sergeant. During a portion of his time he was a messenger for Brig. Gen. H.G. Otis, at the arsenal at Cavite, and he was accorded a public reception in McKee's hall, Oct. 27, 1899, on his return to Fonda. He is now located in South Dakota.
3-Emma Theresa on May 18, 1897, married Charles F. Linnan and lives in Fonda, where he is engaged in the real estate business. James Michael, Emmet Robert, Ella and Regina are at home. - 1904 The Pioneer History of Pocahontas County, Iowa, by Robert Elliott Flickinger, Pg 511-512

Can anyone suggest what the word "Strait" might mean at the bottom of our Carrel / Carroll family bible? It appears after the date that Samuel & Nancy were married, August 12, year 24 Strait. (that's 1824)

George W. Carroll and wife were listed in the 1900 to 1930 Federal Census in Sampson Co., NC. Annie was the daughter of John M. Dixon and Louise Stanley.
Does anyone know the identity of the parents of George W. Carroll, born c1876?
One of their children was Almond F. Carroll.

My gg grandfather John Carroll from County Tipperary emigrated in the early 1800's and among the family papers there were three letters. One from John's brother Martin Carroll dated: Nov 3,1845 from Boston--and a second one from New York dated May 1853. I would be more than wlling to send you copies.
