Hi,

I really don't have much to offer. Just wanted to say that I am related to Anna Bell Fishback...through her mother who was Laverna Annamantha(Dawson) Fishback....who was sister to my gggrandmother, Nancy E. 'Kittie' Dawson Flournoy Richardson. I do have a pictures of the headstones of Raymond Carselowey and Laverna Fishback.

I understand James Manford Carselowey had boxes of material and pictures on the Carselowey family in boxes in his attic. I was told that he threw most of it away.

If anyone has a picture of Anna Bell, I wouldn't mind have a copy.

Duncan burials

Both Rose (earlier known as "Rose Prairie" and named for the ROWE family) and the Elm Grove cemetery are located in southeastern Mayes County-- but just barely.

James Tyner did a survey of the cemetery some years ago and identified only 60 burials ("Our People and Where They Rest", volume one, pages 107/108). Their list does include some of the people that you mentioned- J. E. "Redcloud" Duncan; Susie Carslowey Duncan; Kathleen Duncan Jones; C. Dugger Duncan; and W. A. Duncan. There were 19 graves in the cemetery that had either no markers, or they were not legible.

Actually, Elm Grove appears to be the old Rowe/Vann Cemetery- with some Vann burials as early as 1857.

Anything else I can help you with?

Jerri Chasteen Claremore OK
