am looking for any information on James Cassady, b 1808 in Randolph County, NC - son of John and Elizabeth Cassady - both born in Ireland. James married Dicy Page and they had at least 5 children - John, Benjamin, Martha Jane, Calvin Jackson, and Loyd Alexander. The youngest, Loyd, was born around 1843. I am unable to locate James in the 1840 census. In the 1850 census his two youngest children (spelled Casady on this census) are in Washington County, LA with a man by the name of Israel Pierce. James' dad's (John) will dated 1848 states that James is at that time deceased the 5 children named are living in New Orleans. There is no mention of their mother Dicy or who they are living with.

Loyd Alexander is my ggg grandfather - he was killed in a river boat accident on the Arkansas River around 1870, when my gg grandfather was only 6 so info that has been passed down on the family is sketchy at best.

I am looking for any info on where James and Dicy were in 1840 and when and where they died. Also if anyone has any info on Israel Pierce and/or his wife Jane, that might prove to be useful as well.
