I don't know what happened to my Francis that was the son of Felix Cassidy, whom was born in Scotland, and whom immigrated to and settled with his parents in Luzerne County, PA. After Felix died in 1929, I lost tract of his wife and children one of them being Frank. Whether Frank ended up in N.Y. I don't know as I have not worked on his family in years. Felix brother Thomas had a grandson named Frank, who had many many children, and I am in contact with one of those Children. This Frank lived and died in Patton, PA., while the child I am in contact with lives near Pittsburg, PA. So if we do have a connection, I am thinking if maybe through Felix, however I don't know of an Andrew currently.
Your welcome. Have a great New Year.

Mary

I am responding to this post that I just seen today. I just made the same statement you made about African Americans with the last name Cassidy. My last name is Cassidy and I am African American. In fact my Name is David William Michael Cassidy, my father was David William, and his father was William Earl Cassidy. As far as the hotel in New Orleans, this is the first I have heard of it. I just met another African American whose name is Michael David Cassidy and his father is named Michael David Cassidy. he is the only other Cassidy of African American heritage outside of m family that I know. I would love for you to look at are family tree and see what you can find. You may contact me at n4davesart@verizon.net. I would love to hear from you or the other African American Cassidys you are connected to.

My Cassidy family originally came from Boho in Fermanagh. My grandfathers grandfather was one of 4 Cassidy brothers. Three of the brothers(Thomas, Edward and Philip,) were convicted (?) and sent to Australia as convicts in 1830. I know they left behind a brother, James, who may of emigrated to Canada or US. In addition I have read that it is believed that Edward returned to Ireland and then emigrated to Canada under an assumed name but I have no confirmation regarding this.
My great great grandfather was Thomas.

cassidy's in mobile al and Milwaukee wisconsin

I am brand new to geneaolgy research and am having a terribly hard time finding information on my grandfather.
My grandfather was named Willis M Cassidy and he lived all over the south--Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama. On some documents his name is spelled Willie Cassity. He had a relative named Mary that may or may not have been his sister that is listed living in Miliwaukee in 1935 when she was 16 years old. Mary L Cassity and her mom Alice were listed in the 1940 census as living together next to my grandfather and grandmother in Mobile--possibly Crichton or Wheelerville or ward 8 neighborhoods. I know from family that he had a brother named John or Johnny. Lack of documentation makes sense since he was a supposed "rum runner" and died when he was only 50.
My hope is that someone is researching Cassidy or Cassity's in the area of mobile but are reaching a dead end. I would love to compare notes. please feel free to email lilmommacass@gmail.com if you have any info or would like to help:)

James Cassidy b 1912 Montana

I have just discovered that James Anton Cassidy and Mattie Lawson had a son that I was unaware of in December 1912 in Butte Montana. They had lived in Colorado where two daughters were born....Gwendolyn in 1902 and Elizabeth in 1904. The parents and the daughters show in the census of Butte in 1910. A search of birth records shows a son born to this couple in December of 1912. He is not given a first name at birth, but the child was baptized in mid January 1913 and christened James A Cassidy. I believe he was taken to Durango Colorado about mid 1914. His mother moved to Teller Co., Colorado in 1915. He is not listed on the 1920 census with his mother. Any help would be appreciated.

I am wondering if you know who Michael's father and mother are? I am thinking and hoping that its James Cassidy and Bridget (goodwin/gudin/goudin). I have verification that James and Bridget had a John Cassidy and a MaryJane Cassidy. My family is through John and my third cousin is through MaryJane. It's the siblings that I need information. thanks!

Which Cassidy are you related to is it mary? I was reading some of your message boards. there is a Ethel Mary Clark that marries one of the William Cassidy that has me all confused at moment. If i go by the Cary ME Library data base he is related to my James Cassidy. after looking at all the other Cassidys. Its enough to boggle the mind. Hopefully my James Cassidy is really my James Cassidy.

No I have no Idea about the Patrick Cassidy. The one that lived in Holton. But someone has something wrong with the origianal James Cassidy He was Married to Elizabeth Moore she died in 1909 His son James Cassidy was married to Hanna Cloney who died in 1937. That would be My Grandfathers mother My Grandfather was Charles Albert Cassidy B. 1904. In the census it is weird eliza is both with her husband and listed at home the same age it was driving me crazy. then i found her death certificate that says she was the daughter of david moore and Ellen Mcgraw and the wife of James Cassidy so i finally added David Moore to the Tree. Did they give you information on who did these blood tests. I would like to get in touch with those familys.

kim, good to hear from you. i got this from some other cassidy decendants a few months back.

Hi Chris' We to are trying to connect the Cassidy's of Houlton , Maine. You will note in the 1850 census that the Dority's and Matthew Cassidy are living adjacent to Philip and Margaret Cassidy. From the age difference it appears she may be Philips mother. Mathew contiued to live adjacent to Philip and aquired his farm after his death in 1860. After 1860 Matthew's family is intwined with the family of James Cassidy. We have conducted dna tests with a 3rd generation decended of Matthew and a 4th generation decendent of James and they are a close match. That with some other information we have leads us to believe that Matthew and James were brothers, or at the very least close cousins. The fact that Matthew was living with Mary Cassidy Dority suggests that they are related. (brother and sister?). Michael Dority and Mary Cassidy were married in Woodstock NB 23 October 1845. Both Matthew and James named a son Patrick. Matthew's son died in Houlton in 1924. James's son was living in PA in 1937 when his mother died. Do you know of any living male decendents of the older Patrick Cassidy born in Ireland about 1833 that would be willing to submit dna for comparisen? We went thru ancestry.com for our tests. I believe the elder Patrick is buried in St. Marys RC cemetery in Houlton. If you have further Question or information please feel free to cintact me. MJB, nee Cassidy

hopefully, between the three of us we can make some discoverys. chris

My connection to this is through James Cassidy who Marries Elizabeth Moore daughter of David Moore I found their marriage record in the woodstock nb church record. James is from Ireland b. abt 1832 or 1825 it changes in the census records. Matthew Cassidy and Sarah Ann Moore are witnesses at the wedding 1852. his third son is a Patrick Cassidy. but there is also a Patrick Cassidy in Houlton in 1860. what i was wondering if all these Cassidys are Related since James settles near them number 11. There is also a Philip Cassidy that lives there. And where they are from in Ireland.
