I just recently joined ancestory. My family tree also has
Samuel Casswell Newton born 1804 deceased 1889. Our records show married to Mary Balment in 1837. I have pictures of both of them. He would have been my great-great grandfather.

If you would like to contact me I can be reached at
rfrawley729@adelphia.net

Thanks Grace

This is a long shot , but I'm hoping that you may be able to help. I am searching for Samual Casswell Newton, who was in the Bristol Police force in the 1800's, and has stated that he was born in 1804 in Uppottery inDevon. England. My Father has assumed that he was the child of william Newton and Jane Hurford as all of their children have the middle name of Casswell. I am wondering if Samuel may have been registered at Baptism as Casswell insted of Casswell Newton. If you have perhaps come across an entry for a Samuel Casswell born around 1804 in or around Uppottery in Devon I would be most grateful to hear from you.
Many thanks.
Desperately Seeking Last Name.?...

My father Lonnie Dale GRIFFIN b. 10/19/1943 in Jena, LA was taken in by family of Annie Lucille SMITH b. 9/1917 in LA and Fred R. GRIFFIN b. 12/18/1904. This is not Lonnie's real father although it is on his birth certificate as so. His real father was either a Lonnie NETTLES of Summerville, LA w/bro. Bill NETTLES, or a Henry MANN whom Annie L. SMITH was married to. MANN died and buried in France where he served his service in WWII. Annie was not really married to Lonnie NETTLES. (affair?) My father's grandmother is Virginia Rose Lee HOLLY who married Henry Louis SMITH in LA. Virginia's mom was Missouri Josephine MOREAU of Nova Scotia immigrated to Nacodoces,LA. She married a Thomas Levy HOLLY and later divorced.
FACTS:?
1. Annie Lucille SMITH went by "Anne", she supposedly was married many times and before she died she took the name of Annie GRAY.
2. Fred R. GRIFFIN'S son Chuck GRIFFIN is my father's 1/2 brother.
3. Bennie CASWELL of LA is my grandmother's 1/2 sister. Her grandmother was Emeline BARNETT, supposedly a full blooded cherokee. She married a Benjamin Franklin YOUNG.
4. Bennie is now married to a Fred CASWELL.
5. My family is french/acadian.
6. Lonnie NETTLE'S parents are William T. NETTLES and Sera Jane JORDAN.
Please Help if you have any info. regarding any of these people. I need to find my father's real dad and where I really come from.
Jocelyn Leah "Griffin" :-(
P.S. I check my e-mail everyday for a lead so don't pass me by. >>
