I have an Abial HASKINS/HOSKIN b 1792 Canada d 1845 MI who m Clarissa CASTER b abt 1795 Redfield, NY d 1871 Lake Co, IN. Their children were Nicholas G b 1825 NY, James Harvey b 1833 OH, and Clariss M b 1837 OH. After Abial died abt 1845, Clarissa m Thomas GARVEY in Lake Co IN.

Abial and his brother James lived in Redfield, Oswego NY on 1820 census before migrating to Montville, Geauga Co, OH abt 1826 and eventually to MI .

I know that James HASKINS m Anna b 1799 NY and both died in Berrien Co MI. From the names of some of James and Anna's children I am suspecting that Anna was also a CASTER.
Their children were Lydia Ellen b 1817 NY, Henry b 1826 OH, William b 1827 OH, Catherine Cynthia b 1831 OH, and Lucy Laetetia b 1840 MI.

I suspect that Clarissa and Anna might be children of John CASTER, but not sure which John--the senior or the junior.
Does anyone have a good list of the children and birth dates for both John Sr and Jr?
Rosa Caster and James McGuire

I am looking for information on James Mcguire and Rosa Caster. I believe that Rosa is my gggrandmother but am trying to tie her in with what I have already. Rosa was married to Nathan Caster and had two children with him, Robert Caster and Chester Caster. Nathan died somewhere between Nathan's birth in 1878 and the Census in 1880. I found Rosa and her children in the 1880 census living with Madison Dunsford and his wife. Rosa is named as a sister in law. The next record that I can find in that area is a marriage record of Rosa Caster and James Mcguire. They married Septemeber 29, 1885 in Hamilton County, Indiana. I do not have any other information and am not even sure that this is the right woman. My grandfather was told that his father, Chester, was orphaned at an early age and was sent to live with an aunt in Elizabethtown, KY. Any information that anyone could provide on this couple would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I am l looking information on my gggrandfather, Nathan Caster. I dont have much information about him except that he married a woman named Rosie and I have been told that her last name was Hall, but am not sure about the source of this information. Nathan and Rosie had at least one child, Chester White Caster. Chester was born October 6, 1878 in Crawfordsville, IN. He married Emma Durcholz on June 1, 1905 and the couple settled in Louisville, KY where they had three children. Both Nathan Caster and his son Chester White Caster died at very young ages. In the case of Chester White Caster, he was left an orphan when his father died. Chester was raised by an Aunt who lived in Elizabethtown, KY. I dont have any other information on the Aunt.

Hi Ida, I read with interest your posting about your family with Farnam connections. Hope that your search has gone well. I was wondering if you could help me out?

I have lived in Farnam 3 score and ten and am currently doing research of the lives of the early settlers in Farnam and area in anticipation of writing a book ..."What happened after they left". Have been gleaning the early printings of the local newspaper, The Farnam Echo searching for ads, obituaries, births, moves and etc., for each family.

Any information or STORIES that you would like to share with me would be much appreciated for my research. Also are there any pictures of the original family here in Farnam or photos of the village buildings or surrounding area?

Have you checked out this website...<http://www.wjh.us>? You can find a reproduction of the 1936 50th anniversary paper there plus cemetery burials, obituaries, and more. There is to be a change soon in the format with more pictures of the area and stories added.

There is a 1981 Farnam History book available in print and it will soon be on the web site scanned in from the proofs when printed.

If I can be of any help please let me know,

Thank you,
Betty

Christopher Caster - NY

Hello CASTER researchers. I'm searching for information on a Christopher CASTER. Christopher is known to have been born in New York - most likely in the Redfield, Oswego County area. The year of his birth would have been somewhere in the neighborhood of 1790 to 1810. He is believed to have married a Polly HENRICKS. Christopher and Polly moved to Ohio for some time, then it is believed that they moved to Michigan. A daughter, Lovinna (also commonly spelled Lavinna and Lavina), married Abner Sanders in Fitchville, Huron County, Ohio, on November 25, 1846. Lovinna and Abner then moved to Porter County, Indiana.

Does anyone have a Christopher CASTER in their files, databases, etc.???
Re: Jacob Thomas Caster (1785-1853) Hauver's District, Frederick County, MD

Hi Sheila; (I also have Boyers). I am thinking that your Jacob Thomas Caster may have been a brother to my Martha Caster who married Jacob S. Peterman in Emmittsburg, (Frederick Co.,) MD. I have found a Thomas in the 1790 and 1820 census but none in 1800 or 1810. I wonder if his father might have been Thomas also. Any info would be appreciated. Walt
