My cousin was named Rene Diaz Catalan and was born in Mexico about 1930-1932. He died in a car accident in June 1963. His father was Felipe Catalan and his mother was Irene Diaz. Irene Diaz (my aunt) was born in 1896 in San Cristobal Ecatepec (Estado de Mexico)and her father was Manuel Diaz and her mother was Manuela Carbajal.

Rene was married and he had two daughters and lived in the Chapultepec Polanco area of Mexico City. As a child, Rene lived in Acapulco...I believe his dad's uncle was the governor of the state of Guerrero at the time (1930-40?)

Would appreciate any info anyone could offer.

My cousin Rene Diaz Catalan lived in the Chapultepec Polanco colony in Mexico DF. He was killed in June 1963 in a car accident enroute to Puebla to interview the PRI candidate for President...Diaz Ordaz, who served from 1984 to 1970.

Lopez Mateos (the then president)Ordaz, and Miguel Aleman (son of another former President) went to his funeral in Mexico City. Pictures of his funeral were deatured on the front page of a magazine called "Manana".

I'm tyrying to contact his daughter Martha Rene (married name unknown) who lived in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

Does anyone have any info on this? Any help much appreciated.

My Brothers name is Marcos Antonio Catalan, He was born Aug 23, 1981. He was named after his Father, Whom he never got to meet. My brothers father was killed before my brother was born. My younger brother has NEVER been able to meet any of his fathers family.

Can anyone give me any information on the Catalan family from Acapulco Mexico ? I would like to reunite my brother with his family.

The only information I have on my brothers family is that : He was from Acapulco, He was a police officer, and that he was killed.

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Spc. Romel Catalan, 21, of Los Angeles, died June 2 in Ameriyah, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Stryker Brigade Combat Team), Fort Lewis, Wash.

Searching for Marilyn Catalan

I am searching for Marilyn Catalan (Maria Elena Catalan Horowitz) She is approx. 34 years old. She has lived in Covina, Glendora and Arcadia CA and Hoffman Estates and Chicago IL. Horowitz is the name of her stepfather and she has used it before but switched to Catalan while still in high school. Any help locating her will be greatly appreciated!

Looking for a picture of my GG Grandparents Felicia Foreman Catalon and Arvilien Catalon. She was born around 1843 and he around 1830. They live most of their life in Vermillion Parish.

I don't know if we are related or not, but I certainly would like to find out. My grgrandfather was Arvellien Catalan. I don't know if he was born in Barcelona or America.....family history has it that the family originated in Barcelona. Can you give me any information on the Catalan family? Scholastie (Celeste) LABAUVE, in 1882 in Vermilion Parish, LA. From all indications she was married to a Alexandre LABAUVE, in 1877. She and Alexandre had another daughter
named ELODIE, who was born in 1884, in Vermilion Parish, also. Out there somewhere is a CATALON / CATALAN family

Celeste LABAUVE married a RENE' GODEFROY /GODFREY
