Samuel Drinkwater Caughron's father was William Caughron who died in Jefferson County, TN in 1819. No info on Wm's father. William's mother was Rachel Mosier- according to William's will. Can't find any other info on Rachel either.

William and his wife Martha Drinkwater were the parents of three children:
1. Samuel Drinkwater Caughron (married Amelia Dunn)
2. Andrew Jackson Caughron (married Easter/Esther Dunwoody)
3. Polly Blackburn Caughron (married Moses Easterly and went to Texas).

I assume you have the descendants from here on the Caughron side. If you want to go wider than just the John Hurst Caughron side, let me know.

As for Amelia Dunn - her father was Levi Dunn (B: 3-Oct-1785 in Albemarle, VA, D: 18-Jan-1873 in Blount, TN). They were in Blount Co, TN by 1805 when Amelia married. Amelia's mother was Elizabeth Hurst (5-Oct-1785 in Virginia, D: 29-Feb-1872 in Blount, TN).

Levi's parents were Daniel Dunn and Rhoda Dunn (cousins!). Further back than this it gets very confusing and I haven't gotten it nailed down yet.

Elizabeth Hurst's parents were Lt. John Hurst (hence your gggrandgather's name) and Lydia Ann Smith. If you need dates on these let me know and I'll give the best I've come up with.
