John Calder/Eliza Driggers/Effie Paul McRae Marlboro Co, SC

John Calder (1857-1924) and Ann Eliza Driggers 1862?- ??)had 5 children: Molly, Ella, Vashta Juncey, Bascom, and Gurley (son, abt 1887). Approximately 1892, he married Effie Ellen Paul, or McRae. It appears there was some confusion as to her maiden name. Effie Ellen's mother was Cenia Paul. John and Effie had Wheeler, Fred, Frank, Effie, John, and Tom. All the children were born in Marlboro County. Anyone researching this line?

Unless Moses traveled North during the Civil War (which could be the case) I very much doubt they are the same. The Moses that comes out of this line was the illegitimate son of Peter Calder. He fought in the Civil war but never return to SC instead he ended up in MO. I would however be interested in reading the letter. Is it possible for you to scan it? My direct contact is wfields@comcast.net

I am not sure if this is the same Alexander Caulder, but if he was married 3 times and had 20 children, he was my Great-Great Grandfather, and I have a picture of him and all 20 Children. My family are from Mississippi. Was this Alexander accidently shot by his son?

Jim,
My great grandfather was James William (Willie) Caulder born 26 Aug 1888, died 18 Mar 1974 in Marlboro Cty. and married to Carrie Harper Caulder. Their children are Emma Mae Caulder (Love) 12 Sept 1919, died 16 Apr 1972; Effie Gertrude Jones (Caulder) born 1915; Willie Geneva Gandy (Caulder) born 14 Oct 1916. I believe he has a brother named Arthur and sister name Annie Mae Caulder McDowell. Is this family part of your tree and if so, do you know the father? J.W. Caulder's obituary has father as Jepsey and mother as Margie C. (possibly Beasley). I can not find anything beyond J.W. Caulder's parents or if his father's name is actually Jepsey. It may be Jeptha or maybe a nick name. Any information you may have would be appreciated.
