[Transcribed by Patricia Bausman from photocopies found in Revolutionary War pension file W-4915. Submitted 5 January 1839 by Mrs. Eunice Caulkins, who said it was “written by J. Caulkins” [probably daughter Julia]. Attested to by [son-in-law] James Eaton, who saw her “cut the attached leaf out of the bible containing the family records.” Spelling and punctuation as shown in document; comments in square brackets are the transcriber’s. Bible’s publication data not in file.]
This format - all data run together without line breaks - is obviously not how I entered it! What is wrong with this new system???
