Hi Gill

I think you may have got this by now. John Caunt with sister Jane Caunt (my g.grandmother) 1853 - 1920 m John Holliday, their father Stephen Caunt 1829 -1860, mother Sarah Clark; Stephen's siblings John Caunt b. 1817/18, Stephen caunt 1821-26, Anne Caunt b. 1823/4, charles Caunt 1827-29, Richard Caunt b.1820/d.1820, Jane caunt 1831 - 1834. Sometimes spelled Cont in parish register. Their father Richard Caunt 1796 - 1843 m Sarah Ellis, Richard second son of Stephen Caunt and Jane Beck b. 1796 Denton near Grantham, had a brother John Caunt born 1794 at Denton. Then the family vanish until Richard turns up in Rippingale in 1817 where he married Sarah Ellis. Where was Stephen born? He married Jane Beck in 1793 at Denton both of this parish. Who were his parents?
Anne Caunt had at least 2 illigitimate children, Jane - 1844 who died in infancy and William Caunt c.1842 - 1914 who went on to become a Police officer in Cambridge, married late in life Sophia Frost from Exning, Suffolk and buried in Madingly Cemetery, cambridge.
