Michael Cava of Templeton CA and the Cava that responded to his query who was from Salinas CA I think?, you're probably 2nd or 3rd cousins. Michael's grandfather Vincent Cava is from Chicago, his grandfather is from Piane Crati (Vincenzo Pulicci was the original name I think, changed to his adopted family name of Cava). Vincent Cava's cousin, Sam Cava and his family(ies) settled in the Salinas area and they were in the canning business & fairly prosperous I've heard; Vincent Cava and his brothers and their families settled in the San Jose/Bay area.
