I was beginning to believe this is the case from those that went west. Therefore, my youngest brothers and their sons are the last of Washington Tennant Mason lineage from a male perspective if you know what I mean. As I tell my father, I think as a female, my last name Mason is just as important. Wow. I did receive a picture of Dora Summers in Colorado from Marguerite Diffendaffer which pretty much solidified that yes indeed I'm a descendant of the clan. My father's grandmother was Phoebe Diffendaffer of Deer Ridge, MO. Gladys Fuller Mason was born in LaVeta, CO and they visited out in Colorado often when my father was young.

I've pulled census information now that does prove that my second cousin Ruby Leota Mason Hendrickson (94 in Quincy, IL) is Edward's daughter, Alonso Mason's granddaughter and Washington T.'s great grandfather. I was hoping the line was continuing out west. I've been in contact with your relative Gary Kelley on line. But, he's not convinced of the data I have found. What a shame so much time went by. I thank you for letting me know the Mason name did not continue. It's alive and well here near Memphis, MO. Feel free to email me anytime should you be interested in any further information of what happened to those that stayed in the area.
