CORNING, NY - Rose M. Cavallaro, age 93, of Corning, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2006.
Mr. Cavallaro was born in Naples, Italy, Dec 15 1912, the daughter of Francisco and Natolia Piaccentini.
Rose came to Corning as a young girl, attended school, met and married Bernard Cavallaro.
She was formerly employed by Corning Glass Works, Corning, NY. She was a communicant of St. Vincent De Paul Church, a member of the choir, VFW Post 524 Auxiliary, and the Loyal Order of the Moose
Her husband Bernard Joseph Cavallaro predeceased her on Oct 18, 1944 kill in action during WWII while serving his country. She was also predeceased by her son, Francis Cavallaro on March 15, 1984.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph (Lucille) Cavallaro of Corning, NY, Anthony Merlyn) Cavallaro; grandchildren, Marijo (Alton) Kuperman of Delmar, CA, Roseann Cavallaro of Scottsdale, AZ; Kathy (John) Rooney of Orlando, FL, Michael Cavallaro of Corning, NY; Mark (Angela) Cavallaro of Phoenix, MD: Todd (Michelle) Cavallaro of Havertown, PA; Lisa Cavallaro of Honeoye Falls, NY; Linda (Scott) White of Bethlehem, PA; 13 great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Friday Oct 20 2006 from 5-8 PM at Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 17 W Pulteney St, Corning, NY
A Mass will be held at St Vincent De Paul Church on Saturday Oct 21, 2006 at 10am.
Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery, Corning.
