James Cech, b. 26 Oct. 1895 in Czechoslovakia; married Anna Slatinka 8 Sept 1919; operated a general store in Clutier and Grundy Center, Iowa; died 1 October 1991. Children: James, Jr. and Martha Freese.

Above information is from the Clutier, Iowa Centennial Book which states James was born in "Lukanee". I am wondering if this is Lukavec. James was a nephew of John Kubalek who was born in Velka Ves, a small village very near Lukavec in the now Czech Republic. Would appreciate information on James and his parents to hopefully find out the link between James and the Kubalek family. We think his mother may have been a sister to John Kubalek and wish to verify.
