See my response on the Bay county site. My family is from the same village in Poland as the Ceranski. Actually, the correct Polish spelling of her name is Eufrozyna.
Find marriages here:
http://bindweed.man.poznan.pl/posen/search.php

Greetings,

My great-great grandmother is Euphragenia (sp?) Ceranski (born around 1860) of Bay City, MI, who married Michael Wisniewski of Bay City, MI. I've been looking for more information about their family myself, but with little luck. My grandfather, Ms. Ceranski's grandson, remembers little about her (he is 80 now and may have been born after she passed). Michael and Euphragenia's son Julian Wisniewski moved to Detroit around 1920 and changed his surname name to Cherry. Any thoughts you might have about connections would be great.

d

Hello,

My name is Thomas Ceranski, or just Tom, and I live in Surprise, Arizona. My great grandparents came to America around 1900 and settled in Buffalo, New York. My parents moved to Phoenix when I was ~5. I've often heard that there are Ceranski families in Wisconsin or Michigan, but have never met them.

I'm assuming we're all related, however distantly, because of the story of the origination of our name. The way I was told was that we were originally French, with the last name Ceran. Some of the family settled in Poland (or Prussia), and just added "ski" to fit in.

I'd be interested in what you've known our story to be, being raised apart, and see how closely they match.

I'm looking for any information on Thomas & Amelia Ceranski of Bay City, Michigan, or related families. Thomas & Amelia came to the U.S. in 1890 from Germany/Poland. They had 9 children, including Mary - my great grandmother. Mary married Martin Singer in 1900 in Bay City, but we believed they lived in the Detroit area.

Anyone have any Ceranski's hiding in their closets??

Amy :)
