looking for any known family...

Hello. My name is Regina Rios and I am from Nebraska.
My parents are Paul and Mary Ann Rios. My mother's maiden name is Cervantes
Her birth name is Maria Anita Cervantes. She is the third oldest of eight.
Her parents my grandparents are Joseph and Manuela Cervantes. My grandfather Joseph
Cervantes also I believe goes by the name Jose. He has a brother Manuel Cervantes who
lives in Oklahoma. I am not quite sure where my grandfather was born, but he
is still alive and residing in Oklahoma. I do not know much about that side of the family.
I am unsure of my great grandparents. I have names but I will post them when I find our
family bible. My family tree stops at my great grandparents. It is unknown from where it
all begins. My grandparents lived in Lexington Ne where my mother and her siblings were
born and raised. If any of this seems familiar to you or you have any questions please
post a message. Thank you.

I am researching the following Cervantes members from Villamar, Michoacán, Mexico. I am related to Esteban Cervantes (c 1815). One of Esteban's children has the following listed as padrino's; Leandro Cervantes and Margarita Hermana "sister". I have found one couple Jose Maria Cervantes and Josefa Dias listed as having the following children;

Juan Esteban Ynosensio Cervantes (baptism 27 Dec 1815)
Jose Leandro Serbantes (baptism 14 Mar 1832)
Margarita Servantes (baptism 09 Jun 1835)

The Mormom index also indicates two additional siblings;

Maria Josefa Michaela Cosme Serbantes (baptism 1813)
Jose Canuto Cerbantes (baptism 19 Jan 1818)

Any help with them would be appreciated!

Daniel Cervantes (muddy (at) gbpackersfan (dot) net)

I found this on the 1900 Selma Town, Fresno, CA US Census and I am hoping that someone can tie into this:

TRACA ALVISO: head of household FEMALE b June 1855 in CA mother/father b in CA MARRIED 24 yrs age 44

PENIL: son b June 1889 in CA
FRANK: son b June 1884 in CA
EUGENE: son b July 1890 in CA
LAWRENCE: son b August 1878 in CA
MARY: daughter b January 1883 in CA
FRED: son b March 1892 in CA
FRANCIS: daughter b October 1894 in CA
LIZZIE: daughter b June 1895 in CA
RETA: daughter b March 1882 in CA
PETE: daughter b February 1887 in CA

TRACA'S maiden name is HIGUERA. She married F. (FRANCISCO)Alviso---in ALAMEDA COUNTY in 1875 or 1876.
My ggrandmother was ISABELLE (Lizzie)she married CRUZ JOHN CERVANTES.
I was born in San Bernardino (San Bernardino County Hospital) December 22, 1965. My father's name is David L. Cervantes and my mothers name is Vivian Shirley Mendoza and it is possible that my parents were married, they were both 17 when I was born. I am not sure if my fathers family is from the San Bernardino area or Fresno County area. I am a lost soul searching to find out where I came from.

I'm convinced that our name is correctly spelled "Cervantes" however our name has been spelled "Servantes" or "Servantez" depending on the family member.
My Great Grandparents were Bernardo Servantes(sp?) and Francicsa Rodriguez, we belive they were both born in Texas.
My Grandparents are Eraldo Servantes, born in Karnes, Texas in 1924 and Maria Del Carmen Garza, she went by the name Carmen, born in 1926.
Years ago I found information leading to relatives in the 1700's fighting for Louisiana territory.
If you have any info. please email me at Sarduccigirls@yahoo.com

Mary Cervantes and family

Hello. I'm looking for some old friends that I grew up with. I'm looking for Mary Cervantes. She married Roy Cervantes and they had four children: Roy Jr., Anthony, Melissa and Robert. I don't know any other personal information about them. The last known place that they lived was in Norwalk, CA and that was in 1987-1989. My family went out there to visit them and that was the last time I saw them. Anyone that knows anything please contact me at chastityetheridge@cox.net Thanks a bunch

Chastity Etheridge (Pixler)

My name is Diana Cervantes but I am a different Diana Cervantes from the one who already posted to this message board in 2000. I have just began considering tracing my family tree but heard an old story of a possible feud or something from years ago so I'm not sure if I should. Surely after all of these years though whatever happened in Mexico would not even matter anymore, I hope!

I am taking a stab in the dark! My Grandfather's name is Jose Francisco Savedra (Saavedra, for correct spelling) he was born in Leon, Guanajuato. He and his sister were left with their grandparents (I have no names) I was told that he met his dad in Mexico as an adult. He was sitting under a tree after meeting with his mother. This well dressed man riding a horse came up to him and told him "you don't know who I am - I'm your father) If there was a conversation I don't know. But the name that came out of it was Cervants de Saavedra. My grandfather was born on October 4, 1894. He could not remember his sister's name.

Mrs. Gomez came to Tuolumne in 1847 from Mexico with her daughter Gertrude and her daughter's husband Bernardo Cervantes. The Cervantes had 3 daughters - Sista, Eloisa and Dolores. Sista married Jesus Montoya. Dolores married Frank Trenque and Eloisa married Natalio Segura. I am trying to find out who Mrs. Gomez was and where in Mexico these folks came from.

Cervantes

Some of my family spell Cervantes...Servantes or with a "z" at the end. I've looked at records years ago, and I belive that down the line our family name is spelled with the "C" in front.
My Grandparents are Eraldo(Lalo) Servantes, born in Karnas, Texas and Maria Del Carmen Garza, born in Portland, Texas.
My Great Grandparents are Bernardo Servantes and Francisca, we belive that both were born in Texas.
When searching before, I found that in the 1700's our family fought for Louisianna Territory.
If you have any information, please email me at Sarduccigirls@yahoo.com

Margarito Cervantes

Hi, my name is Marie Consuelo (Cervantes) Rios. I would love to have any information regarding my father since I have never met him. His name is Margarito Cervantes. I don't know where he was born, but I do know that he had lived in Pachuca, Mexico, prior to his move to Emporia, Kansas, around 1945. He was in Emporia working for the railroad. He met and married my mother, Andrea Delgado, in Emporia during that time, but his work ended abruptly with the railroad and he had to return to Mexico. I understand that he also might have been in Michigan at some point in time. I do not know if he had any brothers or sisters. If you believe you might have any information for me, please respond to this message. Thank you!
