I'm looking for living descendants of Edwige PATENAUDE CHABOT, the sister of my great-great grandmother Zenaide.

Edwige PATENAUDE and her husband George PHANEUF-CHABOT lived in Cohoes, NY and are buried at St Joseph's cemetery. They had three children I know of.

Charles CHABOT (b. 1889)
George CHABOT (b. 1888) who married Margaret CAVANAUGH
20 Jun 1917 in St. Patrick, Troy, New York

I have a Basile Chabot married to Josette Prevost on Jun 26 1787 at St Charles Bellechasse, PQ Canada.
He is the son of Pierre Chabot and Marie-Therese LeClerc bot born about 1730 and married on Apr 17, 1752. Is this the family you are looking for. They are in my tree from my grandmother Hortense Gaudet married to Hector Chabot on Sept 20, 1894.

My Chabot line came to Chicago from Canada. There is family a story of some Chabot going to California, making a lot of money and being involved with a large telescope.

After researching just a small bit I came across Anthony Chabot in Oakland. I have a copy of a biography written on him. It mentions little of his family other than he came from a large family with many brothers and sisters.

It is perhaps possible that my line is related to one of his brothers or his fathers line. My line goes back to a Charles Chabot born 1851 in Canada and married Mary D. unknown. She is from Vermont. I have various details on their children as they made there way to Illinois.

Hello, I am descended from the child of the above couple whose name is Joseph, their second child. I can follow the line all the way down to the Massachusetts 1880 census. Then the names change for some of the children, to Shepard. I am interested in finding out what happened to the people who retained the name Chabot.

I have some Chabots in Quebec and two Mathurins.
Mathurin born Aug 18 1637 died June 12 1696 and his son Mathurin born May 2, 1669 but no date if death. Is this something you can use? The elser was born in France but he died in Canada and his children were all born in Canada. He was married to Marie Mesange.

Olivier married Eulalie Allard 1871 in Dr'ville, Qc. Their children were Virginia, m. 10/27/1903, Adelia m. 1/25/1897, Annette m. 3/10/1911, Hector m. 6/10/1908, Wilfrid m. 8/22/1899. Olivier was previously married to Margaret Campbell and had 3 children with her: Jean Alfred b.9/5/1862, Mary Elizabeth b. 11/15/1864 and my gr. grandmother Lucie Amanda Rivard b. 10/21/1867. Olivier's first wife Margaret Campbell b. 1/28/1835 Wickham Drummondville, was daughter to John Campbell and Elizabeth Scott. Children were Elizabeth, John, Sara, Helene, James, MaryRose, Patrick and Peter. Does anyone have any info on any older ancestry for this family. They seem to be Scotish and I can't find anything in the Druins beyond this point. I see Patrick Campbell married Mary McCabe 2/8/1864, Peter married Mary Desmanche 1/1/1855.

This more famous Chabot is said be one of 16 Children. I've searche online and I've not been able to find any site that lists all these siblings. Of course there just may not be one.

Has anyone ever seen a source that does have a listing of the sibings and/or geneology of this line? I am going to grab the Chabot biography from the LA library and see what it has but thought I'd post here as well.

A family story tells of a member who went west and was involved in Astronomy. This Athony would be the guy I believe so I am looking into whether there is any connection.

A Chelmsford, Mass. resident until three years ago, he was born March 19, 1923 to the late Amedee Chabot and the late Mrs. Agnes (Goggins) Chabot in Providence, R.I. At the time of his death, he was employed as a mechanical engineer by the Raytheon Corporation in Portsmouth, where was a member of the Managers Club. He was a World War II Army veteran. Surviving him are his wife, Elaine (Barry) Chabot; three sons, Paul Chabot, Stephen Chabot and Richard Chabot; and three daughters, Joan Chabot, Mary Ellen Chabot and Michele Chabot, all of the home address; three brothers, Joseph Chabot of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Raymond Chabot of Newportrichey, Fla., and Francis Chabot of West Warwick.

In the Chabot Association's compilation of the descendants of Mathurin Chabot there is an Amedee Chabot b. 8 Aug 1881 in St Hermenegilde who married an Isabelle Goggins. There are four children listed for them. Francis, Joseph, Raymond and Leo-V who was born 19 Mar 1923 in Providence, RI and married a Elaine Barry. Their children are listed as Joan, Mary-Ellen, Michele, Paul, Richard and Stephen. If this is the same Amedee they have him traced back to Mathurin.

Hi Bob, Yes that is the same information that someone gave me.....do you have any information on other children of Francois and Monique Langevin.....I am looking for a branch from this family there was a Francois Chabot who married Regina Charon and they had son Joseph Samuel Chabot who married Edith V Dawley and they had a son Francis R Chabot who married Anita Rose Auger....they were in Quebec then went to Conn. USA in late 1800's.
