Hi!
According to my grandfathers notes Margaret Chain and James Gault are buried in Neshannock Presbyterian Church Cemetery in New Wilmington, Lawrence Co.,PA. I think I read somewhere that the Birds were of German ancestry (don't quote me on that). I am guessing Mary Bird was born maybe in Fayette Co. I haven't delved into that family line yet, but probably will soon. I will start with her family line in that county anyway. I have Mary Birds Last Will and Testiment, but it isn't easy to read. I also have Matthew Gaut's Depreciation Paper from the Rev. War. My grandfather preached in the Old Tyrone Pres. Church in Fayette Co. in 1917 where he met many Gault relatives. An older Gault relative showed him official records of the original Matthew Gault who was a squire. I have my grandfather's notes on the Gault family line. In 2003 I had a new headstone put in place for Matthew Gaut in Cochran cemetery in Tyrone twp, Fayette Co. because another Gault descendent had told me that his headstone was unreadable. I also have Maj. James Gaults military papers from the War of 1812. I also have William Chain's "Deprciation Papers" from the Rev. War, and William and Margaret Chain's Last Will & Testament. Plus a brief summary of how William Chain came to the U.S. probably from Ireland.
