Looking for Chaisson brothers in SW Louisiana

I'm looking for the parentage of two brothers who lived in the Lafayette/ St Martin Parishes of Louisiana. Their names were Louis and Basile Chaisson. I have not been able to find a marriage of Basile but Louis was married first to Monique Comeaux and second to Anne Marie Thibodeaux. Family story says that they immigrated to Louisiana from Martinique, but I have not been able to prove this. Who were these brother's parents and where did they really come from. Thanks for your time.

Lost Brothers - Chaisson

I am looking for any information on my mothers 3 older brothers who are lost to the family after my grandmother died in 1929. Lena Murphy(from Galena, KS)passed away on June 5, 1929 leaving behind 6 children and my mother is the youngest child born to her. When we located the census records in Eureka Springs, AR, she was living with her mother Chloe Goodwin and had 6 children. The older 3 boys had the last name of Chesian on the census and their father was from Louisiana. School records indicate the last name as actually (Joseph)Chaisson or (Ancil)Chaison and Lena is listed as the parent. The school record shows they had lived in Springdale, AR. Their names are Johnie (no school record) BRN 1916-1917, Joseph BRN 1918-1919 and Ancil BRN 1920-1921. I have had no luck locating anyone with information on these men. The other two children are Evaline Murphy BRN 1925-1926 and Charles BRN 1927-1928. Any information on any of these people would be wonderful.

Chaisson Ancestral Roots in PEI

Aloha, I found my uncle Clarence Joseph Chaisson and wife Caroline in Chicopee, Mass.I sopke to her last night. My father is his younger brother and was called Aubin Joseph Chaisson, Jr. He is buired at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetry, San Antonio, Tx. Their father was married to Clara Estelle Newcomb and remarried and passed away from a bicycle accident in Los Angeles. I was able to confirm that their parents were from PEI, and Clarence lived with in PEI for a short while before their father remarried again. So that is exciting news! I did not get the my grandparents' names as Caroline did not remember them. She stated their weren't alot of Chaisson's around anymore. I know a John Joseph or Joseph Chaisson an uncle passed away with no children. I have just bits and pieces of the puzzle since we lived overseas while my father was in the US Army. My Mother is Yoshiko Fujita. So I am the "Japanese" side of the Chaisson's!. I would love to hear from you. Thank You for replying to my message.

Thank You so much. My mother and I will defintely be there. Just look for the half Japanese-Arcadian looking Chaisson, that's me Marilyn, and my Japanese Mom, Yoshiko. I am so happy to hear of such a large contingent of relatives steeped deep in familial musical traditions. For my Mother it will be coming full circle late in her life since she married my Father Aubin Jr. after the Korean War and left her culture for a faraway land all in the name of love and bore him three more Chaisson's. John Joseph, Edward Joseph, Marilyn Estelle.<br>She will be seventy and this will be her last trip to the NE.<br>I regret my Father passed on three years ago and never knew of his extensive heritage. His wife and her daughter live in Oregon, where, I don't know. Thanks, and Aloha, MEC

I am seeking my relatives named Chaisson, originally from PEI. My father Aubin was born in Mass. or NH and his older brother is named Clarence. I think he may go by another first name. He lives in Mt. Holyoke, Mass. My grandmother was Clara Estelle Newcomb. My grandfather was killed in Los Angeles while riding a bike. I don't know his name. Probably lived in the Lawrence, Mass. area. He remarried and had no blood children, although I believe his second wife has a daughter from another marriage. They live on the NWstern part if the US. Originally they came from Canada and from France. My father married my mother after the Korean War. Yohiko Fujita is her maiden name. John's Josephs are names in our family.

Octavia Josephine Chaisson b. May 1895 in Chackbay, LA

I am trying to find out about my great-grandmother's parents. My g.grandmother is Octavia Josephine Chaisson (may also be spelled as Chiasson) born May 1895 in Chackbay Louisiana in Lafourche Parish and died in 1985 in Plaquemine LA in Iberville Parish. I know that she had a younger brother named Ambrose and may have had a sister who went by Mae. I have received copies of various social security forms on both Octavia &amp; Ambrose. Octavia's s.s. form lists her parents as Camille Chaisson and Susan Bergeron, but Ambrose's lists their parents as Camrie Chiasson and Suesie Bergeron.<br><br>Octavia went on to marry Thomas Payne Nickens. One of their daughters, Mary Alice Nickens, is my grandmother on my father's side. She was born in Grosse Tete / Rosedale , LA area. Mary Alice married Clayton Roland "C. R." Hebert from Abbeville LA. Their son Todd David is my father. <br><br>Ambrose Chiasson married Mary Thibodeaux. If I remember correctly he had two sons, Ambrose and Paul.<br><br>I do not have my ancestry research materials with me as I'm leaving this post so if any dates or other more specific information is needed please let me know and I would be happy to oblige. Also, any helpful hints on where to go from here or if you have any possible family connections to mine are welcome and greatly appreciated. Thanks!<br><br>"There is only one past and there is only one future."
