Searching for information about parents of Mary Jane Chamberlain Larue born about 1816 in Luzerne Co, PA (now Lackawanna Co) probably in/near Plymouth,Abington, or Providence Townships. In 1836 she marries Tanner Briggs of Providence, Luzerne Co, PA. By 1855 they move with other family members to Wisconsin. Mary Jane Chamberlain Larue died in Milltown,Hutchinson Co, South Dakota in 1897. In all the censuses she uses the name Mary "C" Briggs.
I have found a John Chamberlain in Providence Township in Pa in 1796; and an Ebenzer Chamberlain and family 1820-1840 in Plymouth Twp., Pa. Can anyone please help me with information about Chamberlains in/near what today is Scranton Pa. (originally in Luzerne and later part of Lackawanna County)? Thank you, Janice

CHAMBERLAIN Families in Billerica and Chelmsford, MA, 1600's

Hello. I just checked the archives, and I don't see any recent postings about the CHAMBERLAIN families who lived in Billerica and Chelmsford, MA, during the 1600's.

I am descended from Samuel CHAMBERLAIN, b1685, Chelmsford, MA, who married Rebecca WILDER, b1686/7, Hingham, MA. This is through their daughter, Rebecca CHAMBERLAIN, b1727, Chelmsford, MA, who married Joseph KIDDER in Westford, MA, in 1752.

Joseph KIDDER is descended from James KIDDER (1626-1676) of Billerica, MA, and his son, John KIDDER of Chelmsford, MA.

I've looked at the CHAMBERLAIN before, but this morning I'm noticing that there is not SOLID information about the CHAMBERLAIN men in 1600's Billerica and Chelmsford, MA.

Both Billerica and Chelmsford, MA, were founded in 1655*, but each were "first settled" at different times.

I am already descended from two early residents of Billerica, MA, through James KIDDER (above) and through Simon CROSBY (1637-1725).

Now, I am wondering if I am descended from the CHAMBERLAIN family in early Billerica. Or, was William CHAMBERLAIN of early Billerica a brother of Samuel CHAMBERLAIN of early Chelmsford?

There also seems to be a discussion as to whether Samuel or William married a .. Mary PARKER. The Billerica book is very confusing when it mentions that a CHAMBERLAIN married a Mrs. Mary PARKER (widow of Sergt. John PARKER of Billerica) in 1674. If it is referring to William PARKER, it also says that his wife, Rebecca (SHELLEY??) PARKER, died in Prison in 1692. ??? But, the LDS records show someone saying that Samuel CHAMBERLAIN of Chelmsford had a second wife, Mary PARKER.

Hello,
I am seeking information on Rebecca Chamberlain, married to my gr-gr-gr-grandfather Darius Sprague. According to the book 'The Ralph Sprague Genealogy' she was born abt 1784 and died in 1822. She was married to Darius abt 1802. I have been unable so far to track down information on her parents and where she was born. Darius has been shown to be born in Randolph, Orange, VT, but I've not seen anything about Rebecca in this area of the country.
I would appreciate a point in the right direction-
Thanks,
Marcia

In a 1920 census report it say's his father was born in Massachusetts, and his mother was born in Scotland. We do not know there names. any info appriciated.

Hiram Chamberlain, age 55, (married) of Cuba, New York is listed among the dead in a train accident.

The Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway Train No. 5, The Pacific Express left a snowy Erie, Pennsylvania on the afternoon of December 29, 1876. As The Pacific Express plowed through the snow and crossed a bridge over the Ashtabula River, about 100 yards from the railroad station at Ashtabula, Ohio, the passengers heard a terrible cracking sound. In just seconds, the bridge fractured and the train plunged 70 feet into a watery abyss.

I am not related to this family, just passing on this information which comes from a website called "Ashtabula Bridge Disaster."
I’m looking for information regarding the history and descendents of George B. Chamberlain. I have a copy of a marriage certificate issued in Marion County, Kansas for George B. Chamberlain of Emporia, Lyon County, Kansas, aged 23 years and Catie E. Duchmann [sic] of Florence, Marion County, Kansas, aged 19 years. They were married on the 8th of April, 1881 by probate judge, B.F. Brockett. George would have been born about 1858; Catie about 1861. I believe Catie’s full maiden name to be Catherine Elisabeth Deutschmann, who emigrated from Russia with her parents and siblings in 1875.

Hi - I found a picture in my granfather's stuff of a Molly Chambelain and Dany or Davy. It looks like early 1900s or 1800s, printed on the back of a postcard.
We don't have any Chambelain's in our line, that I know of (still new at this). I did read a thread here where some Chambelain's were in Iowa - my DOUGLAS/S and LEHEWs were both there. My Douglass' also came from CT, via VT. If anyone wants the scan of it, you are more than welcome to it. I'd also be interested in who these people are or were. Its a cool photo

Julie
sunnydaze1@hotmail.

I am interested in locating the family of Anne Chamberlain who lived in South Carolina during the 1700's. She was married to Isaac Girardeau, had three children (John, Ann and William) and died in 1767. Her residence most probably was Charleston. Her husband was the son of Jean Girardeau who came to this country from France in 1696 and was married to Anne LaSade.

Joseph Chamberlain and Mercy Dickinson

Hello,
I have a question. I am descended from Joseph Chamberlain and Mercy Dickinson through their son John who m. Eunice Johnson. Everywhere on the web Joseph is listed as the son of William and either ?? or Sarah Jones, whichever you believe. His dob is estimated at abt 1665, in Hull, MA. My question is this: Has Joseph been proven as a son of William's, either by VR or deed or will or something? The reason I ask is that there was record of a Joseph Chamberlain, b. 1665 in Roxbury, son of Richard Chamberlain. The record reads:
CHAMBERLAIN Joseph, s. Rich[ar]d, bp. 4:4m: 1665. C. R. 1.

I can't seem to find any records of any other Josephs anywhere near this time frame. I know that there were many people who are not found in the records, and many records that may have been lost or destroyed. I am just wondering if anyone knows anything about this Joseph, son of Richard. What happened to him? Does anyone know?

Thanks in advance if you can help.

I am looking for some more information on this family, preferably John and Jane's parents, but any info would be great!

John Chamberlain
B:Oct 1832 in England
D: between 1900-1910 in Nebraska
Immigrated 1858 (1900 census), but I am unsure if it was to America or Canada (See children births below)

He married Jane Unknown about 1855. She was born in May 1835, died between 1910 and 1920 in Nebraska (possibly Franklin County), immigrated in 1840 (1900 Census)

They had the following Children:

Sarah B: abt 1865 in Canada
Elizabeth J B: abt 1866 in Michigan
Eliza B: abt 1868 in Michigan
John H B: May 1870 in Michigan
Joseph B: Oct 1873 in Illinois

John was living next to a Moses Chamberlain in the 1870 Census in Hope, Barry, Michigan. Like John he had a child in Canada, and then moved to Michigan, so I am thinking that they may be brothers, but no proof.

Elizabeth J married a John Hess and raised their family in Wright County, Minnesota.

Paul P. Chamberlain, born VA abt 1806

Looking for more information on Paul P. Chamberlain, father of Joseph W.or H., Thomas Washington, James L., William L., Elijah L., and Elisha L or S., Chamberlain. 1850 census said he was a "Reg. Bat. Clergyman". Elisha S. and Joseph H. are buried at Mount Carmel cemetery, Andrew County, Missouri. (This is also known as Pillman and old Baptist Cemetery). Paul is also listed as a M. G.. in performing a marriage. He was married to Elizabeth Lampten and probably 2 others. In 1860 a Joseph B. Chamberlain age 82 or 83, born in Virginia is living with Paul in Nodaway Township, Andrew County, Missouri. There is a Paul P. in Meade County, Kentucky in 1840. He probably moved to Otoe County, Iowa to live with a son after 1860. Where did he die? Is there proof that Joseph B. Chamberlain was his father? Who was the mother of Thomas Washington Chamberlain? Thomas married Eliza Jerdan Hall. Was Paul a Baptist minister who served at Mount Carmel Baptist Church? Would be glad to exchange information.

Dick Chamberlain, b.abt 1862 MO, son of Catherine, lived Grayson Co., TX

I have an original Cabinet Card photograph of “Dick Chamberlain – Dallas, TX”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in about 1890, by “St Louis Art Co.” and Dick looks to be about age 25.

I found Dick Chamberlain in the 1880 census for Grayson Co., TX. He was age 18, born MO, a printer, who lived with his mother Catherine, a widow, and sisters Kate and Ada. In 1910, he lived with sister Ada and her husband in Grayson Co.
Chamberlain from WV

My father Gerald Chamberlain was born in WV, his father Basil Chamberlain passed away in 1982 in WV. I have no idea who my grandfathers parents were or even who his brothers or sisters are. Basil married a lady Olive Plummer (not sure if she was from WV or not), they had Dana Lee, Harold, George, Margaret, Gerald (these are my Aunts and Uncles). I was told that the Chamberlains from Gassaway, Sutton area of WV are related to me. My grandfathers parents were apparently killed when my grandfather was about 2, not sure if car wreck or what. I was told that he had brothers, Harless, Jack, and Wayne. I would appreciate it if anyone could help me get information on this side of the family. I have been searching and keep hitting a brick wall. You may email me at bengals1@nctc.com or Alicia_Rodgers@gspnet.com. Thank you.

Chamber/Chamberlin/Chamberlain - Mason County, Ky early 1800's

I'm looking for the family of Catherine Chamberlin born about 1823 in Mason County, Ky and was from Maysville. I have found her surname as Chamber (marriage record in Columbiana Co., Ohio), Chamberlin in a BIO done by her son, and Chamberlain on her husband's (Hiram Carr)death certificate. Hiram Carr and Catherine were married in Columbiana County, Ohio in 1843. No death record on file for her.

Catherine says her mother was born in Maryland and her father in Pennsylvania. She was in Maysville untill she finished school, then moved to Columbiana County area after finishing school, probably around 1840.

They were found in Gallia Co., Ohio in 1850, Meigs Co., Ohio 1860 -> 1878 then they moved to Michigan. Hiram says he was born in Columbiana Co. in 1825. His family lived in Trumbull Co., Ohio in 1820, Columbiana Co., Ohio about 1825, and Beaver Co., Pennsylvania in 1830.

Thanks,

Ray

Julian & Waldo Chamberlain, b. 1872 & 1886, sons of Daniel/Alice, lived Worcester Co., MA & NYC

I have two original Cabinet Card photographs of “Julian Ingersoll Chamberlain – age 16 – 1888” and “Waldo Emerson Chamberlain – age 2 & ½ years - 1888”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photos were taken in New York City, obviously at the same time.

I found Waldo as son of Daniel H. Chamberlain in the 1900 census of West Brookfield (Worcester Co.) MA. Waldo was 13 with Jun 1886 DOB in NY. He was son of Daniel H., a widower, born Jun 1835 MA. In One World Tree, Julian Ingersoll Chamberlain is listed as son of Daniel H. and Alice C. (Ingersoll) Chamberlain, and his DOB is 27 Nov 1872.

Get back to me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to Julian or Waldo Chamberlain.

Josiah Bradley Chamberlain/(LIN)

I am trying to connect Josiah Bradley Chamberlain/(LIN) of Tioga Co., NY to Ebenezer of Dover, Stafford Co., NH.

The line would read Josiah Bradley (7) Josiah Bradley (6) Daniel (5) Ebenezer (4) William (3) Jacob (2) William (1)

This line was developed with the much appreciated help of James Parker however it is circumstantial in that there are no known records tying Josiah (7) to Josiah (6).

What is known:
Josiah Bradley (6) was born March 4, 1828 (based upon his obituary) in Tioga Co. (based upon his Civil war Volunteer enlistment papers). The first “official” document I can find for him is the 1850 census where he is living with the Lyman Smith Family and a possible brother Orland Chamberlain in Le Claire, Scott Co. Iowa. In 1852 Josiah (7) marries Amanda (Mindy) Wakefield in Le Claire, Iowa. The 1852 Iowa State Census lists him as does the 1856 state census this also shows him married with one child (Esther) and his brother Orland (?) living with them (this is the last time that I have found Orland). In approximately 1886 Josiah (7), his wife and child relocate to Le Grange Florida. He dies there October 31, 1901.

What is the circumstantial evidence:
1.	The History of Pleasant Valley shows that JB (Josiah (6)) and family (no names mentioned) settled in the valley in 1834.
2.	The History of Scott County shows in part that the parents of Levi S (thought to be a brother to Josiah (7)), Josiah B and Malinda Smith moved to Tioga CO., NY in the spring of 1825 leaving in 1833 to move to Rock Island, Illinois befor settling on a claim in Pleasant Valley.
3.	Both Levis S and Josiah B (7) are found on the 1856 State Census in Le Claire, Iowa.

While extremely weak evidence this is what I have to date. It does put Josiah 6 and 7 in Tioga Co., NY in the year 1828.
As indicated I am trying to either work my way down from Ebenezer (4) through Daniel (5) to the two Josiah’s or in reverse up to Ebenezer but am having difficulties finding any solid information on Daniel, or Josiah (6) anything anyone can provide me would be greatly appreciated. This is a case where nothing would be to small or unimportant.
Thanking you in advance for your assistance
Steve
