By 1870 Philip Chambers and some family members were living in Trowbridge Allegan County Michigan. His son, John, served in the Civil War. They were from Dutchess Co NY before they moved to Quebec. Philip may have been a brother to John Chambers who moved to Wayne Co Michigan and died before 1850. John also had a son, Joshua, who lived in Yates County NY. At one time, I thought Philip's grandfather was Wilhelmus. My family descends from the Chambers of early Kingston NY and I am considering that this family was originally from Ulster Co NY also.
