Hello....and Thanks.

I did find a 1900 census with Doris (spelled differently) in Indiana with father Jesse and mother Mary. Another in 1910, same Doris with same mother and father in Indiana. Then a census in 1920 with Doris and Harry Schwartz and two sons, Leonard and Albert. Which fits beautifully even to the date of Albert's birth. However, I have a note from a distant cousin who is long since dead who indicated that Doris was killed in a car crash with two daughters (both of whom were older than Albert) and that Albert and his brother were sent to live with an aunt (again long since dead)when Albert was about 8 years old which would have been about 1927. I cannot confirm any of this and the cousin even added a disclaimer to his note to my mother in law stating that his memory might be faulty.

Also, Albert's birth certificate indicates he was the second child born to Doris and she was 21 at the time of his birth which certainly indicates the story of two girls prior to Albert and his brother might well be incorrect.

I found a 1930 census with Harry and Doris Schwartz and two daughters, Martha E and Patricia, living in Iowa. No mention of Albert and Leonard. The ages for Harry and Doris are correct in comparison to the 1920 census but no way to be sure it is the same couple

I cannot be certain that the Doris in the 1900 and 1910 census, whose father was Jessee and mother Mary Belle McClain is the correct Doris. I would love to be able to confirm this. Anyone who has any information on Jesse Levi Chambers who was married to Mary Belle McClain, both I assume from Indiana, could help for perhaps then I could either confirm they are the parents of Harry or disprove it and head in another direction.

Albert Schwartz is dead. His life was a mystery for the four short years he and my mother in law were married. They divorced when my husband was less than a year old. My mother in law had no information on him. She died a number of years ago and I have never been able to locate anyone who has any accurate knowledge of Albert.
