A CHAMBERS is missing somewhere

I am seeking a CHAMBERS, male, born 1735-1740 (approx). Born somewhere in the Chambersburg, PA to Hagerstown, MD region of the country.

This CHAMBERS married an Ann [W]. Ann was born about 1740 in Frederick/Washington County, Maryland.

CHAMBERS and Ann may have married between 1756-1760.

CHAMBERS and Ann had children by 1775 (according to Ann's father's will). These children were not listed by name.

The ONLY 'proof' I have is Ann's father's will stating the following:
"Secondly, it is my Will and I do hereby allow that Ann Chambers Part shall be continued in the hands of my Executors for the use of her and the said Ann Chambers Children to be equally divided amongst them, and their respective parts to be paid to them as they come of age and for no other purpose."

I'm chasing ghosts here...trying any leads I can think of.

It sounds like Ann's father wasn't very impressed with her husbands character. Or could it have been that Ann married a widowed CHAMBERS and called his children her own?

I don't know...I really need a break on this one!

Looking for information and family of William Riley Chambers b. 1846. There were several Riley Chambers in Scott County during that time. According to family "history", his son, Elbert Chambers, died tragically in a sawmill accident in 1894,leaving a very young son and his wife of two years, Hulda Elliott. Due to Scott County courthouse fire, we have been unable to prove to disprove Elbert's accidental death or his date of death. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Carole

His grandson William Chambers-Hunter built a house at Tillery in 1826 by Archibald Simpson. The house was rendered uninhabitable by a fire in the 1950's."
I have a lot of conflicting info on this family and need help figuring out where they fit into the grand scheme of things.

I come from Frank and Lucinda's son John Willis Chambers. His son, Everett Bervie Chambers was my great-grandfather. I have determined that John Willis was born in Texas and Frank was born in Arkansas. I believe that Frank's full name was Willis Frank Chambers and he was born in Arkansas around 1856.

Does anyone have any person remotely similar to the above? I do have more info.

I just joined the site and I see you are looking for Chambers family members. Well I'm researching on my mother' side. Her father was John Chambers from Eutaw, Alabama. He had a brother named Walter Chambers. He was born about 1890. Our family side does have ties from Virginia where some migrated to Alabama (Greene County). We had our first family reunion last Labor Day weekend and we are planning on this upcoming Labor Day weekend. It would be great to locate more family members. Believe me after planning the first reunion, I know we have family scattered everywhere. If you would like to see the Chambers/Wells family website, please let me know. Hope to hear from you soon...

Hi, I am looking for any information on the parents of Albert Oraman Miller b. Nov. 1860 in New York. According to family legend his dad was lost in the Civil War & his mother died soon after. He was sent to live with his uncle, Samuel Miller & later with the Summers Family in Iowa. Unfortunately, I don't know the names of either of his parents. Albert married Bertha Inez Stone & we know quite a bit about Albert's life, just nothing about his parents. I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me.

CHAMBERS, Nathan and MATHEWS, Sally

Searching for info regarding Nathan CHAMBERS and wife, Sally MATHEWS. I believe they were from Isle of Wight, VA about 1790 or so.
Someone has them as having only one child when they were both in their 60s. I believe this is incorrect.
My James Chambers was born abt 1795 in Ohio (area that became Delaware/Morrow Counties). He married Sarah Unknown (b. 1798 in NY)about 1815. They had at least 3 children: James, 1816; Charlotte, 1817; and Enos, 1832. I'm sure there were other children due to the missing years between Charlotte & Enos.
Sarah d. 1849 in Bloomfield, Morrow Co (where she is buried).
James then married Catherine Ann Unknown (b. 1818) and they had at least one child: Roland.
James died 12/16/1876 in Morrow Co, OH (where he is buried).
Any help with this family greatly appreciated.

Moses Chambers

Seeking information on Moses Chambers, bSC around 1795 or 1798. I find him in Polk Co. Tn working as a miner in 1830, Jackson Co. Ga. in 1850, in Hancock Co. Ga. in 1860 and living next door to my ggf James Clifton Chambers in 1860. JC' first wife was Sarah Busby and second wife Lizzie (Elizabeth Hannah b Tn 1853). Thomas Chambers, son of James related that we had relatives in Burke Co. NC and Pickens Co. SC. He also related that some of the Chambers from GA, SC, and Burke Co. migrated to Boonesville Or boonesboro, Ky. I've found records fo some Chambers from Boonesboro, Ky rafting down the river into Tn.

Also via the Chambers DNA project, I've been able to make contact with relatives that lived in Cades Cove, Tn.

According to my gf Charles (Charley) Noah, the family is of Irish decent and moved south from PA in the 1700's. I've been able to find some Chambers that moved to Burke Co. NC from Rowan and Iredell Co. NC but can not make any connection with my family.

Anyone provide any clues or help??

Thanks,
Randy Chambers

I am seeking to find out whether or not Sandra Baggett is still living or not. She was born Sandra Chambers to the late Kathryn May (Tate) and Arthur H. Chambers in Fulton Co., GA. Both Kathryn and Arthur are buried in College Park Cemetery in Atlanta GA area. Sandra married James Eddis Baggett (b. October 30, 1939; d. August 17, 1994), place of burial is unknown, and had two children that I know of: Michael Baggett and Jamie Baggett. They are my cousins. I understand that they have a Florida and Alabama connection. My only source of information has passed away in 2002. If you know any of these people, please feel free to email me. I am a second cousin to this couple. Any information would be greatly appreciated for genealogy purposes.
As a hobby, I rescue old photos, that have identification on them. I recently picked up two from an auction. Both were taken in Iowa.

This one has a man & woman on it, and on the back is written: Mama Mr. & Mrs. E.E. Ely. Mrs. Ely was Francis Chambers, daughter of Francis Standley Chambers and William Chambers. The person I acquired it from said it was taken in Iowa.

This has to be probably taken in the late 1800s. Very nice portrait of a serious couple.

I'd like to find family for this photo. For details, contact me at: digginroots@yahoo.com

Kathy

Henry Grady Chambers Leeds Alabama

I am looking for info on my uncle Henry Grady Chambers and his wife Ludie Lee Nolen. They had several children but the only ones I can remember are James Worley, Henry, and Effie. I believe that James Worley has a son also named Henry, who at one time was living in California. After Uncle Grady's death Aunt Ludie married a Mr. Seals. I have managed to get minimal information on this family and would like to know more. Uncle Henry is assumed to have died while living in Leeds, Jefferson Co. Alabama. I have no other info for him. Aunt Ludie was my father's sister. She was born in Russellville, Franklin Co. Alabama about 1904, the daughter of James Sanders Nolen and Ruth Magnolia Robinson. She had several brothers and sisters but she is the eldest. In 1910, she and her family lived at #17 Military Road, Camp Smith, Colbert Co. Alabama.

If any of this sounds familiar, please reply. Any info will be appreciated.

Chambers or Henegar - Oklahoma - Texas - Tennessee PLEASE HELP

I am looking for my grandfathers descendants. Any help is appreciated. My grandfather, his last legal name was Jay Edward Chambers, legally changed it from Jessie Elmer when he enlisted in service. He was legally adopted about 1 year old by his neighbors after his mom died and his father apparently couldn't afford to raise him. His father, we think, is William E Chambers (aka in some censuses as W.E.) and worked for Barnsdall Oil in Oklahoma. One census shows a W.E. Chambers but cannot find him anywhere else. I'm trying to find his parents. One member tree shows an Elijah and Elizabeth (born in Tennessee??) as parents but are not sourced! Can anyone help???

Hardy Diggs Chambers

Long ago, I was given the two names of my ancestors that fought for the Confederacy - Martin P. Chambers and Hardy Diggs Chambers. Martin P. Chambers was the brother of Alice Chambers, my Grandmother. I can find the record of Hardy Diggs in census records, and I have located his grave in Liberty Cemetary, Fulton County, KY, but I cannot find out who his parents were, or how he was related to Martin P., or me. The area of these Chambers is Obion Co. (Union City), TN, and just across the state line in Fulton County, KY.

Was just doing some searching online when I came across a site that allowed me to search for any Chambers (or anyone else) in South Carolina. I did a search for Chambers for the years 1700 to 1800 and came up with about 100 hits. The information is in the form of a synopsis but each synopsis gives the names of each person in the document. Just wanted to pass this along to everyone using the Message board. May help in finding someone that migrated through South Carolina. Here's the web address......

http://www.archivesindex.sc.gov/Archives/search/default.asp

randy

Chambers in and around Sumner County, Tennessee

Hello all!

I am trying to find my family, but am having problems. I try doing multiple searches on Ancestry using all kinds of spellings, but still I find nothing. Here is my line:

My g-grandfather was William Anderson Chambers. According to stories, his father was John Wesley and his mother was Rebecca J. Unknown (1844-ABT 1925). Rebecca, in 1880, married William Roberson/Robertson/Robinson. In 1910 she lists 4 children born, only 3 living. I know 2 for sure- William Anderson Chambers (1864-1933) and Cora Elizabeth "Betty" Chambers (1869-196x). These two married siblings- Geroge Adcock and Nancy Jane Adcock. The Adcocks changed their names to Adds later on. The siblings that married siblings all moved to Texas. (Ellis and Dallas County) If this sounds like ANY part of your family, please contact me. They truly are a mystery!

Another note....I was told that the name was Chamberlain and changed to Chambers due to illegal activity. I think this is fantasy, but the name change might be true.

Thanks!
