I am looking foir any family member(s)that might be from Warrenton Va or any where near there. My father name was Perry Champ and he had several brothers but I only remember Uncle Bill (William Champ) and Uncle Douglas. He also has several sisters Lucille, Lillian. The only think that I remember about my Grandmother was that she was very fair complexion with long white hair that she wore in one long braide. I don't even remember her name. She lived in Warrenton Va or somewhere near that location.

I am looking for my family history.
My father name was Francis Champ (B8/28/1918 & D 9/26/1949).
His father name was Joseph Francis Champ (B8/22/1887 & D 3/17/1982) He had 3 children. He was married to Maggie Courtaway.
He married again after my grandmother pass away. I was told her name was Emma Politte. I do not know if they had any children from this union.
His father was George Champ and he married to Alice house.
I would appreciate any information that any one can give me on this Champ line or any other line.

In 1776 Richard Masterson proved for several men who lived in Loudoun Co., VA, one of whom was Thomas Champ. I have always wanted to learn more about the Champ family because the son of another person who had land proved by R. Masterson named two different sons with the middle name of Champ. Therefore, I have felt that they surely were close family friends or else they were tied by marriage. Thomas Champ lived with his family in the area near Mason Co. and Fleming Co. KY marriages and land deeds can be found there for him.

Is anyone here descended from or related to (Ernest?) William Champ b. abt 1879, of Sunningwell, Abingdon, Berkshire, England?

He married Ethel Green of Sunningwell... the youngest daughter of my GG grandfather Edwin Green. Ethel's mother was Sarah Green (nee Prior).

William and Ethel had a daughter called Ada Victoria SM Champ.

I think William was actually christened Ernest William Champ, but known as William.

There was another Ernest William Champ in Berkshire around this time, but he is in Reading (some distance) so I don't think he is a relation.

I have one daughter for them, Mary Ann Lightner b. June 18, 1803, Carlisle, Cumberland, PA. d. Bef. Oct. of 1862, Lehi, Utah, Utah.

She married (1) Chirstopher Smith and (2) Bartholomew Mahoney.

She had two or three daughters, Sarah Ann Smith (married George F. Hamson), Eliza Jane Smith, and Eva Ann Smith.

George E. Ferris married a Sarah C. in Bridport, Dorset, England in 1849. US census reports has Sarah C. Ferris born in England in 1820/21. They emigrated to US in 1850. They had a daughter named Ida Champ Ferris in 1852.

Rootsweb has a Sarah Christian Champ born 12/14/1820 in Bridport, Dorset, England. She was dau of Samuel Rooker Champ and Mary Hooper. She married in 1849 to unknown spouse.

This appears to be a match but I have no other documentation. Does anyone have sourced information to help me match Sarah C. Ferris as Sarah Christian Champ? TIA.

Looking for any information or descendants of any Champ family of West Hendred in what was then Birkshire, England.

Thomas Champ, son of John Champ, married Caroline Ward at Sutton Courtaney, Birkshire in 1848. They immigrated to Brisbane, Australia in 1859 with 4 children.

Three of the children died of Scarlet Fever on the voyage and they had another 4 children in Queensland with one of those dying in infancy. Four daughters survived to marry and have children, Sarah Ann Mole, Emma Christsen, Charlotte Hampson and Martha Ward Puckering.

Though my ggrandfather, William R. CHAMP is said to have been born abt. 1848 in VA to Elisha and Susan Elizabeth CARRIER, he somehow came to be in IN to marry in 1869 to Mary A. FRUIT. They had 5 children, Leota Viola, Alta Vanetti, Bell, William W. and Alice. Leota was my ggrandmother who married Curtis Jackson BULLOCK June 30, 1900 in Parker Co., IN....they had 3 daughters, Juanita Gale, Dorotha Alice and Wilma Evelyn. Would love to hear from someone who is also connected to this family either CHAMP (siblings -John, Mary (Molly) ANN, George, James and Luhanna), FRUIT, BULLOCK (siblings - Zina M. Does anyone have any semi-solid info. on the father of the John Champ who married Sarah Borror? From what I have seen everyone agrees up until John and Sarah, after that I have seen the father listed as John & Christina for a mother, John and no mother, and the Sgt. Major & Phebe. Like I said anything semi-solid would be great.

I am searching for info on my wife's family. Her g-g-g-grandfather was James (or John) William Champ, born February 22, 1822 in Pickaway County, Ohio and married to Sarah Ann Hobbs (b. October 28, 1827 in Ross County, Ohio) on May 23, 1847 in Ross County, Ohio.
James (or John)'s father was John William Champ, born May 12, 1782 in Hampshire County, Virginia. John William Champ married Mary A. Shanton (b. December 8, 1786 in Hampshire County, Virginia) on March 20, 1807 in Ross County, Ohio(?). John died May 26, 1833 in Pickaway County, Ohio and Mary died November 19, 1866 in Pickaway or Ross County, Ohio.
All I know about John's father was that his name was William. William was born in Virginia and came to Ohio. There is a family legend that they descend from Sgt. Major John Champe. I believe this to be false, but strongly suspsect that the Sgt. Major may have been related. Any information would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi everyone - I'm researching my great-grandmother Florence Champ - Milton - Schindler. Her father was born in Iowa and her mother in England. I found her name in the St Paul, MN 1910 census. She married my great-grandfather Paul H Schindler approx 1906-1910 in St Paul MN. She was previously married to a man with the last name of Milton and they lived in Iowa. Milton and Florence had one son- Kary Milton (b. approx 1906). Paul and Florence had one son Howard Schindler (b abt 1910) and one daughter Marie J Schindler, my Grandmother (b. 11/7/1911). By the 1920 census my great-grandfather was marked as widowed. I would like to find any additional info or pictures of her and her part of the family (and Paul Schindler) if I can. I've tried other avenues without much luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

My Great Grandmother was Eliza Jane Champ, b. 11, March 1875, d. 28, Feb. 1957.
m. 9, Nov. 1897 to Jobe Martin Cosner,b. 17, Dec. 1873, d. 28, March 1931.
Their daughter Anna Armedia Cosner was my Grandmother.
I do not know who the parents of Eliza Champ are but at the resting place of my Great Grandmother is: Thomas Champ, 1831-1911. Also Sara Champ(daug. of Thomas) 1872-1941. From what I have been told that Thomas was Eliza's father and that Sara (Loaf?) I was told by Eliza's other daughter that Loaf was Sara's last name)was her mother.
I have been trying for years to fill in the missing spots and have had no luck.
If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.
Great Grandmother Eliza was invite by the D.A.R. to come down for the unveiling of the monument in Aldie, Va.(Loudon Co.), that she was the closest relation at the time. But due to illness she was unable to be there.
Most of my family lived (some still do) in Mount Storm, West Va. They are the Cosners, Hanlins, and Kitzmillers.
Sure hope someone can help me with the family of Eliza Jane Champ.
Eliza was born at the home place, Champe Rocks 8 miles northeast of Mouth of Seneca on East side of State Route #28, Pendleton County, West Va.
