Frs-X Senecal m. Genevieve Champagne

Hello,
Francois-Xavier Senecal (Joseph, Josephe Coallier) m. Genevieve Champagne (Pierre, Marguerite Gibault) on 26 AUG 1851 Boucherville, QC, CAN.
Pierre or Joseph Jean-Baptiste Beaugrand-Champagne and Marguerite Guilbault/Gibeau got married on 22 JAN 1787 Sorel, QC, CAN.
Joseph Jean-Baptiste Beaugrand-Champagne died in 1818, which indicates that Genevieve was more than 32 years old when she married F-X Senecal (26 years old).
Did she get married before? The mariage record with F-X Senecal doesn't say she was widow.
I couldn't find the birth date of Genevieve Champagne. Any help would be very appreciated.
Tks. G.

Hello I came across this post & it caught my eye. I also have a great great grandmother named Esther Demer (Desmaris) believed to be brn in abt 1855 in Keeseville, NY area.. Daughter of Joseph Demer & Cesarine
Rivedeau (Sarah Robidoux) both brn Quebec & died in Keeseville.
Esther, married not a Champagne though but Ezra Menard ..listed as on their wedding & 2 children's baptismals in Keeseville
. Azarie Menard & Esther Desmarais
married 6 Apr 1874, St John the Baptist of Keeseville

Marie Eleanor, born 13 Nov, bapt 13 Dec 1874, St John the Baptist of Keeseville

Georges, born 5 Feb, bapt 17 Apr 1876, St John the Baptist of Keeseville

They are next found in Danemorra on the 1880 census, he's working as a miner. They also have a 1 yr old Ellen at this time.

I believe, Esther dies in CT in 1896 as Esther Minor & Ezra is found in Putnam CT also as Ezra Minor .. Some of our family records indicate the name Minor mixed in with other records that call them Menard.

I am looking for any Champagne family connected to the Behrend family through Guilbert Champagne and Cecil V. Behrend. I am assuming they started a family in California.

The kids were Vera, Virginia, Ronald, Gloria, and Jerry Kay.
Cecil's kids lived in Fallon, Nevada last time I checked

Cecil was my grandfather's (William Henry Behrend Jr.)sister and would love to connect with family in hopes of maybe learning about my Behrend family and hopefully get some family photos from this line.

From what I know, Cecil died a Behrend in New Jersey but don't know much about where she had been between her death and when she was born in Iowa.

Anyone who is related or knows how to contact my cousins, please email me at John_b_richardson@yahoo.com

This is the only line I have had a hard time getting into on and would love some stories and photos to add to my family tree.

Thanks for taking the time to read and hope to hear from someone soon.

Hi, Additional informations; In the 1841 marriage record, it is said that Joseph Champagne and Rose Coutu obtained a special exemption "une dispense du 3e degre" as they were cousins (3rd degree consanguinity). This fact was not mentioned in the 1st marriage record (1827). How come, this exemption was not mentioned in their 1st mariage, as it is important BEFORE they have children, not after? Who is the common ancestor responsible for this 3rd degree consanguinity?
My great grandmother was a Champagne from Acadia whose ancestors had been expelled. Laura Champagne married a Cornish seaman, a Trehan from Cornwall, while in Rhode Island and they repatriated (or moved) to Eau Claire, Ontario Canada in the 1870s. My grandmother, Laura's daughter, married a Cauchy, a descendant of Baron Louis Augistine Cauchy, the mathematician, born 1789 in France.

Etienne & Delima were in Attleboro & Marlboro, MA at about the same time. Their first 2 children (Delia, oldest, born about 1878 & Mathias) were born in Hebronville, MA and the others were born in Marlboro. By the time of the 1900 Federal Census Delmina had died (Marlboro Nov 1895) and the family was in Rhode Island

The 1905 RI census shows that the Fredette girls were living with Michael & Delia (Fredette) Kearns in Pawtucket, RI. By the time of the 1920 census Delia had died and all her siblings were married. Michael & (son) Henry Kearns were living in Pawtucket 3of their daughters were in the RI Catholic Childrens Assylum in Providence, RI. The 4th daughter was with Ida (Fredette) & Malachi McWilliams in Pawtucket.

Do not have anything at this time on Amanda, but will keep an eye out.
The first relative to come to Canada was Pierre Huyet dit Champagne b. in Charleville Champagne about 1696 and married Margaret Saume in Montreal Canada. Are my Champagne's related to yours? If so, do you have any further information on mine. Thanking you in advance, Teri Champine

A family story tells of a Canadian Flyer/Soldier called
Amie/Amy/Alme Champagne who became close to a lady in my family called Annie (Nancy) Everett, this would have been in about 1943/44 when she would have been about 37yrs old and living, at that time, in Berrylands,Surbiton Surrey. She talked about possibly going to Canada to be with him but obviously this did not happen. Does anyone have a person of this name and age on their tree that might be able to shed light on the story. Thanks Lesley
Hi,
I am tracing the Champagne family of my gr. grandmother (whom I knew) Marie Mae Champagne (1904-1988). I have as her parents
William Michel Champagne (b. 3-9-1864, Houma; d. 7-12-1918, Covington)
Justine Folse (I have a question mark by middle name Kathleen).

William Michel son of
Joseph Florestan Champagne (1838-1910)
Zulema Thibodeaux (1837-1929)

Joseph Florestan Champagne son of
Eugene Champagne (1815-1906)
Marie Elina Chauvin (1816-1892)

I have a few generations further back, but I fear I have a jumbled mess. I have pulled from other people's genealogies, which seems to have caused me some confusion. (There seemed to be a lack of names in the 1700s and 1800s and the same ones just kept getting recycled! lol)

I am no longer living in Louisiana, so unfortunately cannot take advantage of the library system or visit any of the graveyards, courthouses, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thank you!!!
Shannon

I am VERY NEW to trying to trace ancestors. I recently found the following hand-written information among my mother's papers (she was the daughter of (Marie) Rosealba Champagne) so would love to have it validated or corrected.

A generation back, Leah (Lea) Pelland’s forebears were named Bord-de-L’eau.

Leah Pelland married Narcisse Beaugrand Champagne December 7, 1887. (The mothers of both Leah Pelland and Narcisse Beaugrand Champagne had identical names: Genevieve Bellerose, although they were not closely related.

Children:	Birthdate:

1.	Pherie	October 24, 1888
2.	Laura	January 15, 1890 (Married Joe Jalbert)
3.	Flora	October 20, 1891 (Flora became pregnant by her employer Will Nelson and had a son name Ervin - who was adopted by people named Baxter)
4.	Sybeal	November 16, 1892
5.	Beric	December 26, 1894
6.	(Marie) Rosealba Champagne *	August 17, 1896 (Rosealba, my maternal grandmother, married Brian (Bryan) Cafferkey (or Cafferky) (alias Alfred Riley) on February 3, 1914 in Olds, Alberta, Canada.
7.	Alex	May 20, 1898
8.	Marie	March 15, 1900
9.	Clara	June 10, 1902
10.	Nelson	February 10, 1904
11.	Antoinette	March 17, 1905
12.	Jermaine	December 16, 1906
13.	Edward	October 26, 1908

In 1908, Narcisse Champagne left Leah just before the birth of their 13th child and moved back East where reportedly he married Rosilda Morin in 1908 and had 7 more children by her. As far as is known, Narcisse never divorced Leah so he may have been a bigamist.)

* Kathleen Rose Cafferky was the second daughter of Rosealba (born October 26 or 27, 1918) and Bryan. Kathleen married Leslie Warren Taylor in 1939 and Arlene Rose Taylor was their first child, born 2-1-1943. (Also had a son Allan Warren Taylor born 7-19-1946.)

Typed out for Ray Champagne by Arlene Rose Taylor, November 1, 2010.
Hello, Emanual Shampang- had a son with the name of Charles Wade Shampang- married to a Lettie M. Shampang & they had 11 children- One being my grandfather Joseph Austin Shampang from Ct. There has been quite the controversy in the family to whether Lettie M. Shampang/Shampone born at a estimated year of 1876 -was 100 % indian. Anyone with info on that-contact me at bonbon324xoxo@yahoo.com
sincerely,
Bonny (Shampang) Zalewski

Hi. My grandmother was Antoinette Champagne, born Legal Alberta 1906; her mother was Leah, and father Narcisse. There were 13 children, some born in Aloberta, and some on the way from Quebec. I think this is the same family you speak of. Most of the nnames you mention are/were her siblings. I knew Clara well, and also met Germaine and Laura. Flora, Marie, Rose, Burick, Sibiol, Joe, Ed and others I hear my mother talk about. My mother is Thora Rose Van Damme (ne Van Schaik, her mother is teh Antoinette I talk about) Mom is 81 past, but would be able to tell you lots about this. She doesnt do internet, but if you email me, I can put you in touch. colinr@ironmanpipe.com

Narcisse Champagne also had another family in Manitoba, htat is not to be talked about. I think he was a trapper, bush man of sorts, with a home at either end of the trap line.

Do you know any other facts about your father, such as his date/place of birth or his parents' names and where they lived? There are too many with the same name or middle initial to narrow down the search for him.
