I'm looking for any information on Tom Chancellor. The story is that he was working as a hired hand for Ellis McVey and his wife, Martha Rumsey McVey in December, 1880, and I think it was in the area around Eufala, OK. The town Mellett is mentioned, which doesn't exist anymore, but I think that's where it is. Ellis McVey and Tom Chancellor were both attacked by two brothers, Indians, in McVey's home and McVey was killed. Chancellor had his hand cut off. The Indians were apprehended, confessed, and were executed in Fort Smith, AR. I'm told that later on, Chancellor and Martha got married and at some point moved to Lockhart, TX. I'd like to be able to confirm that they went to Lockhart, and what happened to them afterwards. Any help appreciated.
