Marriage Licenses - Live Oak, Florida

I have Marriage license copies for a Mark E. Chancy's marriage to Manarvy Lee in Suwanee County, Florida on Sept 3, 1880.

Also, on the bottom of a copy of my grandfather's, Augustus Chancy & Ella Ruth Starling, marriage license dated october 27, 1907 is a piece of the license for William S. Clark of Suwannee Co, Fl & Miss Jessie Ann Chancey. The date is not on the remnant of license on the bottom of the copy of my grandfather's license.

Samuel W. Chancey & Miss Elizabeth J. Shiver on January 3, 1881.

I have a copy of Leroy Chancey's marriage license from Suwannee County. It is dated February 20, 1910 to Miss Bretha N. Carroll. The marriage was performed by Levi Starling, O.M.S. This may be relevant historically as my grandfather's, Gus, first marriage was to Ella Ruth Starling.

Do any of you have an Andrew Chauncey? He married Nellie Sanders on December 28, 1922. Nellie was my grandmother's, Lizzie Gertrude Sanders, sister. Lizzie married Gus Chancey.

Don't know if any are of interest ... just passing along.

Working on my husband's lines. His great great grandfather was Benjamin Hayes Chancey born 1864 and according to the 1930 census he claims to have been born in Massachusetts. I cannot find any Chauncey or Chancey to come close to this in that place or anywhere else in the US. I will give what I do know and would love if any of you have run into this guy in your research.
Benjamin Hayes Chancey b. 1864 d. 1954 in New Haven County, Connecticut.
He married Annie Pearl McClelland in Kemper County, MS. The family story is that he was passing through the area as an eye glasses salesman. Annie died in 1926. He is living there in 1930 with children Benjamin, Ella, William, Albert, John and Jettie? Son, John, moved to CT at some point and Benjamin was living with John when he died. I can offer some additional info on this family going forward if anyone recognizes any of this and can connect.
Charlene Moore

Do any of these names ring a bell?
Mary Elizabeth Chancey married Jonas Key and lived in Ellijay, Georgia. Mary had a brother Lewis Chancey, after whom she named one of her sons, Lewis Austin Key. I have a WWI photo of Lewis Chancey and interested to know more about him and his siblings.

Oscar or anyone interested in cemeteries in Evansville, Indiana. I recently read an rticle from my sister written in Evansville that they were doing research on all the cemeteries and were going to use coroners, doctors, relatives, etc. to locate and find our more information for all burried there. They believe it will take a year before this is completed. Possibly more. And I believe they are going to have photos or information to locate the headstones and graves of those burried there. This would be a great thing for many people. Just type in Evansville Courier and the information will come up. Hope this helps anyone and everyone.
Mary

Hi, I'm trying to trace my ancestry back to the first member of my family to come to America. Actually, I'm trying to prove an old family tale of two brothers who came to America together, one stayed in the North, stayed Chauncey, and one came to the South, became Chancey. My mother was Barbara Chancey of Jacksonville, FL. Her father was Warren Lott Chancey of Charlton Co., GA. Papa's father was Wade Lee Chancey of Charlton Co., GA, and Wade's father was Samuel J. Chancey of Appling Co., GA and is from his second marriage. Samuel J.'s father was Samuel Chancey of South Carolina, and this is where I run into a brick wall. I know that this Samuel or his father was the one to move my family to GA between 1790 and 1816. Any help would be welcome!!!!

They were from Pierce County Georgai, yet I am not having any luck finding anything on them. Please help! Thanks

Chancy/Chancey

I'll jump in and be the first. I am searching for CHANCY, although Chancey may have been a previous spelling.

I know there was a book printed several years ago on 3 unrelated Chanceys but dont have the information on it. Does anyone? I think the 3 ladies were out of GA or ALA.

I also sent letters eons ago -before I knew better- to 168 addresses I got from Beatice Bailey's Chancy Book. No help there at all.

I can trace back to 1825 in southern Illinois. There it stops. Id like to hear from ANY Chancys who are researching in southern Illinois, please.
