This is not my family, but I was helping out someone else when I came across this family. William S. Chandler, who I think was the son of Thomas Chandler and Lucy Workman, married Mahalia Hall in neighboring Audrain County in 1874. I think that they had a son named William Sheldon Chandler who was born c. 1880. If Mahalia remarried in 1883, William senior probably died in the early 1880s. I think that this was the same William who worked for the railroads in the 1870 census for Calloway County.
