There was a William Chandler in Halifax VA whose will was proven in 1779 with my ancestor Thomas Bingham listed as "security". A few years earlier in 1772, a Fanny Chandler was bound to William Bingham (probably a brother of Thomas) by the church warden.
Later in Randolph Co AL, a grandson of Thomas Bingham (Ragsdale Bingham born 1815) married a Chandler. I'm trying to figure out these connections. Here is a summary of William Chandler's estate:
Thomas Bingham and John Smallman listed as security for the will of William Chandler, proved 20 May 1779 in Halifax. Wit: John Wood, Richard Stanle, executor son Timothy Chandler and John Legrand. Mentions daughters Susannah wife of William Lax, Bettey wife of John LeGrand, Hannah wife of John Smallman, sons Timothy, Robert, John, Shadrack, Frederick Chandler.
