Just curious about how folks pronounce their Chappell lines. We were told it was with a "SH" sound. When I talked with direct relatives in Florida, they agreed. They decended from NC>IN>IL. HOWEVER, when I talked with other folks from the same lineage (the ones still living in Illinois), they tell me it's pronounced with a "CH" as in "Chip".
I thought this was strange. It means my grandfather's siblings call themselves with a "CH", while his wife and daughter pronounce it with "SH".
