WINTERS, Rosemary Chappell 95, of Springfield, Ohio passed on Tuesday, September 24, 2013.
She was born August 18, 1918 in Fort Wayne, Indiana the daughter of J. Henry and Rosella (Rhodes) Chappell.
Rosemary graduated Cum Laude from Franklin College of Indiana in 1940, and was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority, Covenant Presbyterian Church, Springfield Country Club, and was the first woman to serve on the City of Springfield Civil Service Commission.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hunter Winters in November 1973.

Following his passing, Rosemary taught Government and American History at Springfield-Clark Joint Vocational School for ten years.

Also preceding her in death are her parents, sisters Ina Davis and Janet Harris, and brother-in-law David J. Winters .
Rosemary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law David Chappell and Karen (Kolmacic) Winters of Columbus, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law Cynthia (Winters) and Stephen Nowka of Springfield; four grandchildren Robert Winters Ater (Gregory Baer) of Milwaukee, WI, Jennifer Christine Ater of Yellow Springs, Ohio, Sara Ann Winters of Jacksonville, FL, Robert Joseph Winters of Columbus, OH; great grandson Clay Benjamin Cooper; two nephews and five nieces. The service to honor Rosemary's life will be held Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM. in Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ray Stewart officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at a reception in the Library Lounge of the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Robert H. and Rosemary C. Winters Scholarship Fund at Franklin College, 101 Branigin Blvd., Franklin, IN 46131, or to Covenant Presbyterian Church,201 N. Limestone St., Springfield, OH 45503
