I am researching the Chartres/Charters family in Shannonbridge, Co. Offaly, Ireland. They were farmers & publicans/hotel owners. I have traced them back to the mid-1800s there but I don't know when they arrived in the area, or where they came from. The surname had died out in the area by 1901. If you're researching the same family or have any information about them it would be great to swap stories.
