Hello, cousins,
A couple of years ago, my sister came across a farmhouse in Fannin County which had fallen into disrepair. It had a bronze plaque out front which identified it as the home of Jason Coward CHASTAIN (1818-1904), if I understand correctly. She inquired about it and learned that it still belonged to a CHASTAIN descendant.
Last week, she noticed that the house is apparently in the process of being rebuilt. The bronze plaque was gone.
Does anyone know if this property is still in the family?
Is the history of this place being preserved?
